Join @CCLCUK in person on 18th June for an in-person event on children in the asylum system, including an interactive arts exhibition by young refugees and a panel discussion on issues for children and young people going through the asylum system. https://t.co/evYvzecNm4
Today we bring together over 240 organisations - together we stand in solidarity with those affected by the recent acts of violence, many of whom have already fled unimaginable horrors to try to find safety.
This must be a turning point.
#TogetherWithRefugees
We have joined with over 240 organisations standing with all those impacted by the recent violence. Many children, young people and families we work with have fled persecution in their home countries and come to the UK as a fair and compassionate society. #togetherwithrefugees
@Rebecca00631516 We are also starting to run our individual booked sessions again this year, provisionally at the end of September 2024, and will be our rights and entitlements training. Our website and social media will advertise this when it becomes available to book.
@Rebecca00631516 Hi Rebecca, We mainly run commissioned training - an organisation will commission us to deliver it to their staff. If of interest you can contact [email protected].
In face of the violence of recent days, we stand with the Prime Minister, political leaders, organisations, community groups and individuals making it clear there is no place for racism, Islamophobia or anti-migrant rhetoric in our society.
Many of the children, young people and families whom we work with have fled persecution in their home countries and come to the UK as a fair and compassionate society. They and all refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in the UK must not be made to feel unsafe.
If you care about justice, you want to care about #LegalAid.
75 years ago today, the Legal Aid and Advice Act (1949) gave us a consistent system of legal assistance. (1/6) 🧵
Our friends at @After18UK are looking for a new operations manager! The deadline to apply for this role is this Friday, details here: https://t.co/ZGbaHJcfec
People power works ✊
But let's be clear: the Rwanda flights should NEVER take off, no matter who comes into government next.
Refugees fleeing war & persecution deserve safety and a place to call home, not to be used as cheap political points.

Can you help? Once this petition reaches 100,000 signatures the government will have to hold a further debate on this policy change which stands to split so many families apart.

@timloughton@WeBelong19@CommonsHomeAffs These fees are not a one-off charge. They are a trap for young people #StuckInTheLoop, to be paid every 2.5 years until a person can afford the huge fee for permanent status for which there is no fee waiver even if a person would be made destitute by paying.
Today we have hundreds of young people from across the UK advocating for their rights in Portcullis House as part of our parliamentary event!
We look forward to seeing you all there. Don't miss your chance to be heard! 🙌

@timloughton@WeBelong19@CommonsHomeAffs This includes the massive and escalating fees charged to young people just to stay lawfully in the country they call home. Fees have risen by 540% in just 10 years.
