Each passing year reminds us that those who fought - and will continue to fight - for our country gave us the greatest gift: they made the future of the children of this land, their life’ purpose.

31 years later, complacency has no place in our lives as peace and security continue to be threatened.

These threats are now relying on more sophisticated military, economic and political tools, in an attempt at changing the course of our development to bring us back to a time when our nation was dictated by #primitivepolitics.

As HE @PaulKagame reminded us yesterday, our strength will continue to lie in our clarity of purpose, and our determination to match and stop those threats, with all our might.

Thanks to the efforts of @AfricanParks and @RDBrwanda, seven lions from South Africa were relocated to Rwanda, reviving the species after nearly two decades of absence. Now, Akagera is home to around 60 lions.

Akagera is home to a thriving population of hippos with over 1800 hippos counted during the 2023 aerial census. Third of the park's surface area is dominated by water, making it the largest protected wetland in the region and a perfect habitat for hippos.
