Each passing year reminds us that those who fought - and will continue to fight - for our country gave us the greatest gift: they made the future of the children of this land, their life’ purpose.
31 years later, complacency has no place in our lives as peace and security continue to be threatened.
These threats are now relying on more sophisticated military, economic and political tools, in an attempt at changing the course of our development to bring us back to a time when our nation was dictated by #primitivepolitics.
As HE @PaulKagame reminded us yesterday, our strength will continue to lie in our clarity of purpose, and our determination to match and stop those threats, with all our might.

Taga Denis officially got a great send-off yesterday as he retired from cricket. Though he stepped away last year, Indorwa CC and Right Guards CC — the two clubs he played for — gave him a proper farewell.
Mutumba occupies a more central location on the scenic and game-rich Mutumba Hills, the highest point in the park. Here, evenings can be cool and breezy, offering a serene retreat.

Happy World Lion Day!
Thanks to the efforts of @AfricanParks and @RDBrwanda, seven lions from South Africa were relocated to Rwanda, reviving the species after nearly two decades of absence. Now, Akagera is home to around 60 lions.

"Rwandans will never understand why any country would remain intentionally vague about who was targeted in the genocide. Such ambiguity is, in fact, a form of denial, which is a crime in and of itself, and Rwanda will always challenge it." President Kagame | #Kwibuka30
May the Flame of Remembrance burn bright over the next 100 days as we honour the memory of the more than one million victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

Akagera is home to a thriving population of hippos with over 1800 hippos counted during the 2023 aerial census. Third of the park's surface area is dominated by water, making it the largest protected wetland in the region and a perfect habitat for hippos.

Happy International Zebra Day!
Akagera National Park is home to a healthy number of plain zebras, particularly Grant's zebra subspecies, which is the smallest of all the plain zebra subspecies.

"We started out by protecting the environment around Volcanoes National Park and cleaning any rubbish we found. Our passion was recognised by @RDBrwanda and today I am also a tourism guide." - Emmanuel Harerimana, Founder, Umuhisimbi – Voice of the Youth in
