I was glad to meet again with @PierrePoilievre and discuss our shared desire for Western policies on Iran that support the Iranian people's movement to liberate themselves from the Islamic Republic.

He expressed his and his party's commitment to a secular, democratic Iran free from the dictatorship of the current regime and a process of free and fair elections in which Iranian decide their future.

I thanked him for his consistent support for the people of Iran and their human rights and dignity and accepted his invitation to visit Canada again where we will continue our conversation on how to help the Iranian people and free the world of regime holding us all hostage.

It was a pleasure to speak with Crown Prince @PahlaviReza about the mission for a free and democratic Iran, returned to the Iranian people and free from the terror of the regime in Tehran.

I shared with him the tremendous support I saw from Canada’s Persian community in Vancouver and their hope for freedom and democratic change in Iran.

We discussed the importance of sustained international pressure on the Islamic Republic, maintaining internet access for Iranians, using frozen Iranian regime assets rather than Western taxpayer dollars to support the Iranian people, and ensuring that Iranians themselves determine the future of their country through free elections and a democratic constitutional process.

Conservatives support comprehensive sanctions and the seizure of regime assets, expelling the IRGC from Canada, protecting Persian and Jewish communities here at home from threats and intimidation, and maintaining the Conservative policy of no formal diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic.

I was also pleased to invite the Crown Prince to visit Canada and look forward to continuing our discussions about how Canada can support the Iranian people in reclaiming their country and securing a free and democratic future.

Iran's Rights in the Caspian Sea Are Not Negotiable.

The Islamic Republic, amid profound structural weakness and a deep crisis of legitimacy, is seeking to advance and implement the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea (the Aktau Convention). This effort, undertaken without the mandate of the Iranian people and without a clear and comprehensive guarantee of Iran's historic rights, is deeply concerning and constitutes a serious threat to Iran's national interests.

Under the 1921 and 1940 treaties between Iran and the Soviet Union, the legal regime governing the Caspian Sea was founded on the parties' shared rights and the principles of mutual agreement and common interests.

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the newly independent states reaffirmed, in the Alma-Ata Declaration (December 1991), their commitment to the treaties of the former Soviet Union and to fulfilling the international obligations arising from those agreements through the successor states.

Accordingly, any fundamental change to the legal status of this strategically vital body of water must be made with the agreement of all littoral states and with full respect for Iran's rights.

However, the Aktau Convention provides for the conclusion of bilateral and multilateral agreements among the littoral states concerning portions of the seabed and subsoil of the Caspian Sea, areas that were previously part of the shared waters of Iran and the Soviet Union.

This sets a dangerous precedent. By circumventing the principle of consensus among all littoral states, it effectively weakens Iran's historic position and diminishes the country's role in determining the future legal status of the Caspian Sea.

Since the signing of the Aktau Convention in 2018, I have repeatedly warned that "national interests cannot be safeguarded from a position of weakness." At the time, I also stressed that the criminal clique ruling the Islamic Republic sacrifices the interests of the Iranian nation and homeland for its own survival, and that its foreign policy repeatedly resorts to concessions and appeasement from a position of weakness.

My position on the current process remains unchanged. I consider the Islamic Republic's attempt to ratify this convention to be contrary to Iran's national interests.

No decision concerning Iran's resources, borders, or sovereign rights in this strategic body of water can possess legitimacy without the genuine participation and consent of the Iranian people. Iran's rights in the Caspian Sea are not negotiable, nor can they be relinquished. Any action that undermines these rights will be recorded in the historical memory of the Iranian nation, and those responsible will ultimately be held accountable by the people of Iran.

جمهوری اسلامی در شرایط ضعف شدید ساختاری و بحران مشروعیت، قصد پیشبرد و اجرای «کنوانسیون رژیم حقوقی دریای کاسپین» (کنوانسیون آکتائو) را دارد. این تلاش رژیم، بدون پشتوانه اراده ملت ایران و بدون تضمین روشن و کامل حقوق تاریخی کشور، اقدامی نگران‌کننده و تهدیدی جدی علیه منافع ملی ایران است.

بر اساس معاهدات ۱۹۲۱ و ۱۹۴۰ میان ایران و اتحاد جماهیر شوروی، رژیم حقوقی دریای کاسپین بر پایه حقوق مشترک طرفین و اصل توافق و منافع مشترک شکل گرفته بود.

پس از فروپاشی اتحاد جماهیر شوروی، کشورهای تازه‌استقلال‌یافته در «اعلامیه آلماتی» (دسامبر ۱۹۹۱) بر پایبندی به معاهدات شوروی سابق و تضمین اجرای تعهدات بین‌المللی ناشی از قراردادها و پیمان‌های آن توسط دولت‌های جانشین تأکید کردند.

بر همین اساس، هرگونه تغییر اساسی در وضعیت حقوقی این پهنه آبی راهبردی باید با توافق مشترک همه کشورهای ساحلی و با رعایت کامل حقوق ایران انجام شود.

با این حال، کنوانسیون آکتائو امکان انعقاد توافق‌های دوجانبه و چندجانبه میان کشورهای ساحلی درباره بخش‌هایی از بستر و زیربستر دریای کاسپین را پیش‌بینی کرده است؛ بخش‌هایی که قبلاً بخشی از پهنه آبی مشترک ایران و اتحاد جماهیر شوروی محسوب می‌شدند.

این بدعتی خطرناک است که با دور زدن اصل اجماع همه کشورهای ساحلی، عملاً جایگاه تاریخی ایران را تضعیف می‌کند و نقش کشور را در تعیین سرنوشت دریای کاسپین کاهش می‌دهد.

از زمان امضای کنوانسیون آکتائو در سال ۲۰۱۸، بارها هشدار داده‌ام که «پاسداری از منافع ملی از موضع ضعف ممکن نیست». همان زمان نیز تأکید کردم که فرقه تبهکار جمهوری اسلامی، منافع ملت ایران و میهن را قربانی بقای خود می‌کند و در سیاست خارجی، از موضع ضعف به باج‌دهی‌های پی‌درپی تن می‌دهد.

موضع من درباره روند کنونی همان است. تلاش جمهوری اسلامی برای تصویب این کنوانسیون را اقدامی مغایر با منافع ملی ایران می‌دانم.

هیچ تصمیمی درباره منابع، مرزها و حقوق ایران در این پهنه آبی، بدون رضایت و مشارکت واقعی ملت ایران، از مشروعیت برخوردار نخواهد بود. حقوق ایران در دریای کاسپین قابل معامله یا چشم‌پوشی نیست. هرگونه اقدام در جهت تضییع این حقوق، در حافظه تاریخی ملت ایران ثبت و تصمیم‌گیرندگان در برابر ملت ایران پاسخگو و بازخواست خواهند شد.

چهل و شش سال از درگذشت پدرم می‌گذرد، اما او امروز زنده‌ترین چهره سیاسی در پیشگاه تاریخ و دل ایرانیان است.

شعله عشق ملت ایران به او روز به روز بلندتر و فروزان‌تر می‌شود. همان‌طور که جاویدنام مجیدرضا رهنورد به نیابت از میلیون‌ها جوان ایرانی نوشت: «نسلی عاشقت شد، که تو را هرگز ندید».

پدرم با تمام وجود، عاشقِ ایران بود. قلب او با طبیعت این خاک می‌تپید و باریدن باران بر دشت‌های ایران، برایش بهترین و زیباترین خبر بود.

او در ۲۲ سالگی، کشور را در شرایط دشوار اشغال متفقین تحویل گرفت و با تکیه بر میهن‌پرستی، ایران را به سوی دروازه‌های تمدن بزرگ هدایت کرد. اگر فاجعه ۵۷، مسیر تاریخ ما را منحرف نمی‌کرد، ایران امروز یکی از درخشان‌ترین قطب‌های رفاه و توسعه در جهان بود.

هم‌میهنانم، اگر به راه او باور داریم، مسئولیت بزرگی بر دوش ماست. برای وفاداری به نگاه او، ما باید ایران را از این فرقه تبهکار پس بگیریم و آن را دوباره بسازیم.

از اوایل قرن بیستم ایران با داشتن دو رهبر بزرگ نگر، قدم در راهی گذاشت که هیچ کشور دیگری در منطقه حتی تصور آن را هم به خودش راه نمی داد.
پدرت، رضا شاه بزرگ، در سخت‌‌ترین دوران جهان آنروز، ایران را از تقسیم و تجزیه نجات داد و پایه های کشوری متمدن و مستقل را بنا نهاد.
سپس به همت کار مداوم تو، شاهنشاه ایران، کشور ویران بعد از جنگ، تبدیل به ایران آباد شد، و ایرانی سرافکنده، مغرور و سربلند.
ایران کم کم مورد نگاههای حسرت بار بعضی و امیدواری بعضی دیگر قرار گرفت، و ابر قدرت‌ها نیز به تدریج با نگاه‌های نگران به آن نگریستند.
در انتهای آن دوران طلایی، تمامی کشور‌های منطقه در آرزوی بدست آوردن جزیی از آنچه ایران به دست آورده بود بودند، ولی تو کماکان به دنبال نشاندن ایران در سطح پیشرفته ترین کشور های جهان.
تو، شاهنشاه ایران زمین، با اعتقاد به حمایت بی چون و چرای ملت ایران هيچ نوع توافقی را با بزرگان جهان که حتی قدمی با ایران بزرگ مورد نظرت تفاوت داشته باشد قبول نداشتی، ولی افسوس که آن حمایت از تو دریغ شد، و بدون آن پشتیبانی حیاتی، تا به امروز شاهد خسارات بسیار سنگین و کمرشکن اش بوده ایم و هنوز هم هستیم.
ایرانی را که تو ترک کردی با تمامی کشور های جهان رابطه دوستانه داشت، و درهای آنها بدون ویزا برای ما باز بود، ولی ایران امروز، با عنوان حامی نخست تروریسم جهانی، تنها با شماری اندک رابطه ای نیمه دوستانه دارد.
در ایرانی که تو ساختی، درآمد یک کارگر ایرانی امکان یک زندگی راحت را به خانواده اش میداد. امروز کارگر ایرانی حتی قادر به تهیه مایحتاج اولیه زندگی اش هم نیست.
ایران تو در مهم ترین کارخانه های جهان سرمایه گذاری میکرد، و به کشورهای اروپایی پول قرض میداد، و امروز کاسه گدایی دولت آن در انتظار اجازه آمریکا برای خرید غذاست.
پادشاه تاجدار من، به تو به عنوان همسری بی مانند و مهربان، و پدری با علاقه و توجه بسیار به زندگی و تربیت فرزندانش درود میفرستم.
به تو به عنوان ”بزرگ ارتشتاران فرمانده“ درود میفرستم. تو با جهان بینی، برای میهنت پنجمین نیروی دفاعی جهان را بوجود آوردی، تا هیچ کشوری حتی فکر تجاوز به ایران را هم به خود راه ندهد.
نسل جوان و برومند امروز ایران، همانهایی که رژیم اسلامی با صرف هزینه های هنگفت و دروغ‌های بزرگ درباره دوران ما، می خواست حامی خودش باشد، با آگاهی بسیار از آنچه ما ساختیم، با دست خالی، ولی با اراده ای آهنین رو در روی آنها ایستاده، به خاندان پهلوی درود میفرستد، و با صدای بلند سقوط رژیم وحشت را میخواهد.
همین چندی پیش شاهد بزرگترین کشتار تاریخ ملتی توسط دولت حاکمش بودیم، دهها هزار جوان برومند ما به فرمان رهبران امروز ایران، در تنها دو روز در خاک و خون غلطیدند، و ملتی را داغدار و خونخواه خود کردند.
امروز همان رهبران در آتش جنگی خانمان سوز، سخت درگیرند، و ملتی که آن روز همه چیز داشت، امروز گرسنه، بی دفاع و مستاصل نمی داند با چه فردایی رو بروست.
رضا، پسر بزرگت که هنگام رفتن تو جوانی ۱۹ ساله بود، رهبری باز پس گیری ایران و رسیدن به دوران گذار را به عهده گرفته.
امید من و همه ایرانیان است که با پیروزی نهایی نور بر تاریکی، ایرانیان، یک دل و یک صدا، و دست در دست هم کمر همت به ساختن آینده آن ببندند، و از نو ایرانی پیشرفته و سر بلند بسازند.

Statement Regarding Recent Social Media Clips from Prince Reza Pahlavi’s Reuters Interview:

Yesterday a short clip of Prince Reza Pahlavi’s recent hour-long interview with Reuters was shared on social media. In it, he refers to his strategy of seeking defections from the Islamic Republic to ensure a more peaceful transition. The clip was cut and shared out of context and does not reflect the entirety of the Prince’s position and defections strategy.

The Prince has always believed that criminal elements of the regime should face justice for their crimes but that those who wish to join the movement against the regime, be part of a peaceful transition, and help build Iran’s future, should be welcomed.

In June 2025, in order to streamline and professionalize this process the Prince announced the “National Cooperation” platform. The platform, monitored and managed by a team of technology, data, and security professionals, allowed for the processing of a far greater number and a more strenuous vetting of potential defectors. The platform was broadcast into Iran via the most-watched satellite broadcast in the country, Iran International.

In the months that followed, tens of thousands signed up for the platform from across Iran’s political, military, and bureaucratic institutions. Thousands were members of the armed forces. Others occupied positions in civil institutions. Among those were senior regime and military officials, verified by their national identification cards. Others were members of the armed forces who were later killed in the January 8th and 9th uprising. All were keen to break from the regime and support the national movement against it.

The “National Cooperation” platform has since been updated and improved and continues to engage potential defectors across the state apparatus. More information will be provided on this platform in the coming weeks.

This background gives relevant, additional context to the specific answer the Prince gave to a specific question, regarding an interview he gave in 2018, both of which are reflected below:

You've said in a 2018 interview on Iran International that you've had dialogues with members of the IRGC and the Basij. More recently, you've asked some of them to defect.

What exactly is your position on the IRGC?

PRINCE REZA PAHLAVI:
Again, that's a great question. Thank you for asking it, because a lot of things have to be clarified.

After the Green Movement, and closer to the time when the Woman, Life, Freedom movement began, I started receiving direct messages on social media from people saying, 'I'm a Basiji in Mashhad,' or, 'I'm a member of the IRGC in such and such place. We hate this regime. We're not with them. We're looking for an opportunity to break away,' and so on.

When I told the media that I was in touch with elements like that, it was in that context. It's not that I was talking to the IRGC command. Not at all.

But there were elements of the Basij, the Sepah, and of course the military as well, who would communicate with me discreetly, as a sign that this was their position...”

The Prince remains firm in his belief that the Islamic Republic will be defeated with national cooperation, national solidarity, and national unity bringing together Iranians of all backgrounds and will continue and expand his efforts to secure political and military defections from the criminal regime as a means to bring about the end of its reign of terror.
