📣I met with the Secretary of State for Transport, Louise Haigh. I highlighted the importance on a number of issues and asks for us here in Sherwood Forest including;
➡️The extension of the Robin Hood line
➡️Better bus services including for our villages
➡️Better public transport so local people can access education, jobs and training.
➡️Potholes were high on the agenda. We can't go on with the flimsy single pothole dobbing that fails every time!
👍It was a very positive meeting. I will keep you updated.
It's been non-stop since the election, as it should be!
This week has been full of training and induction sessions in Parliament, meeting fellow MPs and of course, swearing in (taking an oath of allegiance to the Crown in the House of Commons).
Today I have spent the day with residents across Sherwood Forest getting stuck into casework.
ℹ️ Quick reminder: I have been inundated with messages and meeting requests - I am working my way through them and in the process of setting up a staff team to help with this.
Thanks for all the support you have shown me this week, it really is appreciated. It is an honour to serve as your Member of Parliament.
The first session this morning was on Parliament’s Behaviour Code.
When talking to residents on the campaign trail, lots of people were appalled with the behaviour some MPs have demonstrated. This must change.
Me and my colleagues are determined to rebuild that trust between Parliament and the public. I am committed to doing that over my term of office. Bringing back service to politics.
THANK YOU! 🌹
I am so humbled, honoured and privileged to be elected as your Labour Member of Parliament for Sherwood Forest.
Together, we campaigned for Change and overturned a massive majority of over 16,000.
Thank you so much to each and every single person who put their faith in me.
I will honour the trust you have given me and I will work tirelessly to earn that trust from all of you.
It’s time to stop the chaos and turn the page with Labour.
Change will only happen if you vote for it on Thursday 4 July.
Watch our party election broadcast.
Change is coming! Great to welcome @EmilyThornberry and @UKLabour battle bus to Hucknall in Sherwood Forest today with my very good friend @MichaelPayneUK for Gedling
🌹Let’s make Sherwood Forest and Gedling two Labour gains on 4 July!🌹
Thank you @bphillipsonMP for coming to see us in Sherwood Forest. It was great to visit a school in Clipstone. We even had a kick about with the girls football team. I look forward to seeing once again the difference a @UKLabour government makes to children and young people.
If I was in Parliament I would stand up and call Rishi Sunak a LIAR like I did his predecessor Boris Johnson.
I'm sure they would want to evict me (again)
Parliament is currently closed, but you the people can boot Sunak out on 4th July and vote @UKLabour#change
"I'm backing our schools with record investment" said Rishi Sunak. As a school governor, a parent and an education professional I know this is just not true.
-70% of schools have less funding than in 2010
- £4.6bn is needed to fix the SEND crisis
- £4.4bn is needed to repair the school estate
We have the largest class sizes in Europe!!!
You can see how much your local school has been cut by here 👇

An early start in Sherwood this morning as @MichelleWelshUK officially launched her #GE24 campaign. It was a real pleasure to help kick things off and say a few words about someone I know will do us proud in Westminster 🌹
Today we launched our #Win24 campaign to bring Labour back home to Sherwood Forest 🌹
Thank you to everyone who came - it was fantastic to have friends and family together as we gear up to the General Election.
14 years of Conservative chaos is enough. It is time for change.

That's the choice on Thursday 4 July.
Vote for change
Vote for a fresh start for Sherwood Forest 🌹 @UKLabour
Brilliant to see so much support this morning for Labour's candidate for Sherwood Forest, @MichelleWelshUK.
Michelle has put her heart and soul into fighting for the people of Nottinghamshire for years.
On 4th July, let's kick the Tories out and send her to Parliament ✊🏽
Huge thank you to local Labour members that joined us in Ollerton today. A launch and then leaflet deliveries and talking to so many people across the constituency.
Once again a great response on the doorstep.
Thank you @NadiaWhittomeMP@PaddyTipping@ClaireWard4EM@CWUnews@MichaelPayneUK for your fantastic speeches and your ongoing support.
