There’s a fundamental question to ask: what is the identity of this franchise? When the new regime was set up they claimed to want to be more analytical and transaction driven like the Rays while still being family like the GMDM era.
That has utterly failed.
So now what? What’s the operating model? Does anyone think the FO or coaching staff have earned a second chance to figure it out?
…Except Sweeney, I think he’s really good.
Cerantola isn’t in “the club” and never will be so the Royals will keep him on the shortest leash ever while Starting got two seasons to prove he was a loser. Why give him 15 or 20 games to see if Sweeney can turn him into anything?
Because if you did, you’re throwing the towel in on the season. Yes, that’s the tipping point 🤦🏼♂️
This team is pure clownshow.
@ryan_landreth Coaching:
Pitching is OK given the circumstances
Hitting is an abject disaster, especially situational hitting
Base running is clownish
Defensive communication is awful
So why are we comfortable?
@TheCriticalDri2 Console gaming is dead. General computing is on life support as long as the AI firms are buying up components.
These are dark days. I hope we are aren’t running headfirst into digital feudalism.
The 94 strike killed MLB. Prior to that, the on field product and respect for history gave the game that historical through line which made it magical.
After? MLB panicked so they turned a blind eye to PEDs and introducing gimmicks that ruined the history of the game (inter league play, universal DH, realignment…)
@woopiggaming Over optimization gets you crappy baseball and basketball, fragile institutions and 8000 mile long supply chains with single points of failure
@AerospaceJohn Rule of thumb is withdraw 4% of your retirement account annually which on a $1 million dollar portfolio is $40k. And those funds are probably taxed. Assets !=income
