@DanielGorman20 Yes but also how our work and/or hangups will eventually drag us down into some nether region where we'll eventually go insane and die.
@misterminsoo The animating metaphor that our work or hangups will drag us gradually down into this nether region was salient but it was stretched way too thin.
@johnsemley3000 I couldn't shake Cube while I was watching it, almost unavoidable. Especially with one particular framing device (excuse my vagueness, want to avoid spoiling).
Still great!

Down south we have simple people. We love food. Love family. Love Nathan Cleary. We love to eat food. Itโs our life. Also we love Nathan Cleary. Also food. Also rugby. Itโs a funny old game
@teo_ess@rbowr17@verdur_in I finished Remembering Babylon last week, my first Malouf, thought it was fantastic. To your first point re dialogue and with Babylon in mind, what I found to be it's strength was Malouf's lyrical style, more evocative than descriptive.
@EmmettStinson@geoffwilt I'm seeing Ambarchi on Wednesday night at The Corner followed by Tortoise on Saturday. Gonna be a great week. The Necks were incredible when I saw them late last year.
@RevanOluklu I was distracted when I posted that. I meant that in practically every discussion these days, the lack of tolerance for contradiction is a major brake on any constructive outcomes.
@TheKnownLover My waning admiration for it was in direct correlation with the need to parry. I absolutely hated that mechanic. Didn't finish it and won't ever lol.
