Claude Code just found the spyware on my 19 y/o sister's iphone
It was hiding as a system app called "Device Health" and sending her entire camera roll to a server…
Her iphone was dead by 2pm. Warm in her pocket with the screen off. She thought it was just old
I plugged it into my laptop, opened a terminal and gave Claude Opus 5.5 one prompt
2 minutes later:
→ 63 processes running
→ 60 normal
→ 2 old games still pulling her location
→ 1 app called "Device Health" with no icon on the home screen
"Device Health" had:
→ accessibility access - it could read everything on her screen
→ access to all her photos and files
→ mic + location + every SMS
→ device admin rights - so she couldn't delete it
→ an upload every 15 minutes, even at 3am
So I asked Opus to pull the app apart
It decompiled it down to the code in 4 minutes. Inside:
→ every new photo she took was copied and uploaded within 60 seconds
→ her whole gallery had already been sent - 2,300+ photos
→ a keylogger catching every word she typed
→ screenshots every time she opened Instagram or her bank app
→ her GPS logged every 5 minutes
All of it zipped and sent to one server, 3 times an hour
847 screenshots and 112 new photos were still waiting in the upload queue
It wasn't a system app. Someone installed it by hand
She has no idea who. Or when
We wiped it, changed every password and turned on 2FA. Her battery went from dead at 2pm to 40% at 10pm
Your 3-minute check tonight:
battery → anything draining with the screen off is suspect
photos access → only your camera and gallery apps need "all photos"
accessibility → if you don't know why an app is there, it shouldn't be
device admin → only "Find My Device" belongs on that list
nameless apps → no icon + "system", "health" or "sync" in the name = check it
Found one? Don't delete it on the spot. Screenshot everything, then remove it and change your passwords from a different device
Save this post, and check your phone tonight. Then check your family's

SONY PATCHED THE PS5 IN 2 DAYS. HACKERS BROKE IT AGAIN IN 8 HOURS.
Today’s PS5 firmware update, version 14.20, is already compromised. A hacker known as master_s9 just showed off an exploit for the brand-new firmware.
The timeline:
→ An exploit was demonstrated on firmware 14.10
→ Sony rushed out 14.20 two days later and closed the hole
→ Hackers cracked the new version in just 8 hours
Sony is clearly trying to patch vulnerabilities fast. It didn’t matter.
Every locked-down console eventually gets opened. The only question is how long Sony’s security can hold, and right now the answer is less than a day.
@james_objc haha I know right, still feels unreal sometimes. shipped BuildBox 2.0.0 today and most of it was put together right from the phone lol, wild how far it goes
BuildBox 2.0.0 is out 🚀
Compile on GitHub, sign on-device with your own certificate, and install — the full cycle from your iPhone. No Mac, no ESign round-trip.

@EgeMustafaCelik yeah it does — it builds the whole project, so widgets/extensions come out inside the .app like a normal build. you just get the IPA unsigned
I built a Mac app that turns any Xcode project into an unsigned IPA with one click — no terminal needed. Free, open source. Grab the DMG: https://t.co/KReqmuaHHz
@james_objc haha not fully on the phone — mine kicks the project to a linux box too and gets the IPA back. the difference is I never have to touch a mac, the whole thing starts and ends on the phone lol
