@jonnywakefield I was a reporter in the U.S. before moving to Canada & keeping that career. The difficulty (& sometimes hostility) in obtaining info from Cdn. courts was a complete shock. For Cdn. police, accommodation of media requests varied greatly by jurisdiction (in my experience).
@bus_lazy@takeETSalert I don't disagree that there's a lot they contend with, in general, but not on the bus in question. I'm not railing against the drivers, but the efforts to make them aware of route changes, which appear to be lacking. I do plan to take it up with my councillor.
@DigitalMooseman @takeETSalert I'm always polite and thankful, and the drivers are apologetic and reasonable. But it's frustrating that they're seemingly working with outdated material, especially when the stop would've been an LRT stop if the Valley Line had opened before the end of summer.
My son is watching Paw Patrol. I'm seizing the day to explain muni gov't: 1) Mayor is elected. 2) PP = NGO service provider. 3) No proof Adventure Bay tendered for 3rd party rescue services. 4) #3 + known association w/ & frequent PP use = mayor in Conflict of Interest. #kickback
@jonnywakefield That's shocking. Many duplexes weren't worth the money last fall when my wife and I were looking all over Edmonton. We bought a house instead in a better area than Keswick for a lot less.
It's important to remind everyone that @jkenney previously encouraged municipalities to make their own decisions related to masks. Now, instead of releasing the data used to inform the changes, the @UCPCaucus has decided to change the MGA. #yegcc#ableg#abpoli#yyccc#COVID19AB
Our interactive holiday light displays map is now live on the Journal Christmas blog. If there's a house decked out in Christmas splendour in your neighbourhood, let us know and we'll add it to the map. #yeg https://t.co/mezpzoJUCe
This is good, but doesn’t undermine the bad that this photojournalist was arrested by RCMP, jailed for several days and remains charged for practicing photojournalism.
"With 29 arrests over a two-day span, the decision to detain the press along with protestors represents a move by the RCMP to prevent the public from being informed about events on the ground ...
"It is crucial to acknowledge the context in which these detentions, of everyone from land defenders to media workers, are taking place."
