@hayekian The problem with that article is that it revolves around Thomas Piketty who distinguishes himself from a communist by inventing "participatory socialism."
Hence, Besada's Hayek quote, "Nothing is more securely lodged than the ignorance of the experts."
Milei =++
Piketty =--
@JamesD444@SonjaAgora@AustinShiloh1 "Even worse is that they claim the party platform defines libertarian philosophy."
Yes!
And then they invent a "preamble" to place before the Statement of Principle, which should come first before all else,
@AlexPchase@NeoRothbardian I wish I knew more about Voltaire. I have always liked him for the way he condemned Jean-Jacque Rousseau.
Who could have predicted that Rouesseau's ideas of consent of the governed and the social contract would become the excuse for modern governments' tyranny?
@hayekian Jorge Besada wrote, "I am thoroughly convinced that the only way out of civilization's current chaos is a world-wide free market educational campaign as envisioned by Mises and friends."
Yes. And proselytizing this message is the most important thing we can do.
@Intankabilis@NeoRothbardian "General Population" would be resident victims of socialism because they presumably had a part in building the factories, a sort of reparations.
The succeeding Rothbardian 'government' would have to do this.
@NeoRothbardian "Not my mill, not my lumber" epitomizes the difference between a worker and a homesteader.
So de-socializing an economy is best achieved by auctioning off assets with the proceeds being distributed to the population at large.
Think "Schumpeter's Creative Destruction."
@NeoRothbardian "His point was that property rooted in state privilege, subsidies, or coercion had weak legitimacy."
So far, so good.
But
"...Legitimate ownership should instead belong to those who actually use, occupy, and work the property."
Occupy or work doesn't equal "homestead."
@hayekian@RepThomasMassie@FmrRepMTG@RepBoebert@RepNancyMace Mises says that the primary duty of reasonable men is to understand economics. But the primary American ethos is to not understand anything and to take what one can by hook, crook and force.
@AcademicAgent_X Isn't the Labor Theory of Value just plain wrong because it pretends there is no value in saving, investing and entrepreneurial risk? Marx sums it up as a Capitalist rip-off when it is in-fact a just reward for capitalists.
@hayekian Milei seems to have a good grasp of Austrian Economics. For example he took a chainsaw to a lot of government departments like the Dept. of Women and Gender when he first took office.
But quite often his words and actions defy his apparent understanding.
@1984PinkPanther@GVDBossche@jwgale I believe the methodology to calculate excess deaths was changed in Britain.
Did the methodology to calculate excess deaths in Germany ever change?
@carynannharlos So maybe convention delegates COULD vote to prevent Trump from addressing the Libertarian delegates at convention?
I always appreciate your take.
This is Dr. Kevin McKernan who worked on the human genome project as well as on the cannabis genome.
Also well known is Dr. Kevin McCairn, a Scot in Japan Okinawa?) who has done important work on amyloids and the embalmer's clots.
The Chelan-Douglas Health District is ~100 miles east of Seattle and on the east side of the Cascade Mt. range. Rugged, like Dr. McKernan's backdrop.
@CityJournal Then there is the libertarian model. In 1776 we sought freedom from English tyranny. Now we seek freedom from the tyranny of our own government, peacefully.
