New software engineers, who genuinely want to learn, how do you actually focus? Between endless docs, tutorial, YouTube and AI that writes code for you, it's hard to know what to go deep on and to skip. How do you avoid just vibe coding your way through without really learning
@KagimuDrImran 13 positives in 7 days is hard to interprete without the denominator. How many were tested? The positivity rate against a baseline gives a better signal than just a raw count.
@fullstacklover You can learn the basics in a week. Mastery only comes from using it on different problems. Anyhow, what would you consider as 'mastered'?.
a critical vulnerability was just discovered in PHP. the language that runs 80% of the internet
severity score: 9.2 out of 10. that’s about as bad as it gets
what can an attacker do with this? take full admin control of a server. steal entire databases. passwords, credit cards, payment histories. plant malware and use the server to attack other systems
but here’s the terrifying part that most people missed
the moment the patch drops tonight attackers are expected to use AI to reverse engineer what was fixed within 15 minutes
15 minutes. that’s the window between the fix going live and automated attacks launching worldwide
every online store, booking site, and corporate system running PHP that doesn’t update in those 15 minutes becomes a target
this isn’t just a developer problem. if you’ve ever signed up to a website, entered your card details, or created an account online your data is sitting on servers that might be vulnerable right now
and someone just publicly dropped the working exploit on twitter before the patch was even ready. gave every attacker on earth a head start
engineers worldwide are pulling all-nighters tonight to patch their systems before the attacks begin
change your passwords on any service that matters to you. enable 2FA everywhere. and watch out for fake “maintenance” or “password reset” emails over the next few days
the internet is about to have a very long night
i had 12 Claude agents running in parallel for 6 hours and i managed to reverse engineer @supabase

AN OPEN LETTER TO MR FRANK GASHUMBA.
Dear Mr Frank Gashumba,
I have followed your challenge offering UGX 200 million to any pastor who can walk into a hospital ICU and perform a miracle of healing. While I respect your desire to expose false prophets, I believe your challenge reflects a misunderstanding of how God works.
God is not a magician, and His servants are not performers. Miracles happen according to God's sovereign will, not human demands or financial rewards.
Consider the great men of God in the Bible:
Elijah called down fire from heaven, yet later fled from Jezebel in fear and despair (1 Kings 19).
Elisha raised the dead and performed mighty miracles, yet he himself fell sick and died (2 Kings 13:14).
Apostle Paul healed the sick, yet suffered personal affliction and left Trophimus sick at Miletus (2 Timothy 4:20).
Does this mean these men lacked God's power? Certainly not! Having the gift of healing does not mean having control over God's power.
Mr Gashumba, your challenge reminds me of the religious leaders who demanded signs from Jesus. Even at the cross, they mocked Him, saying, "He saved others; himself he cannot save" (Matthew 27:42). They challenged Him to come down from the cross, but Jesus refused to turn divine power into a public spectacle.
To those using this debate to attack Born-Again pastors, remember that God is not Pentecostal, Anglican, Catholic or Orthodox. His power is not confined to any denomination. God can perform miracles among believers of every Christian tradition, and He also works through doctors, nurses and medical treatment.
I support exposing false prophets and holding religious leaders accountable. However, we must distinguish between challenging religious deception and mocking the power of God.
Mr Gashumba, the absence of a miracle on demand does not prove the absence of God.
Jesus said, "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God" (Matthew 4:7).
Instead of turning the suffering of ICU patients into a public competition, let us pray for their healing, support their families and appreciate the medical professionals caring for them.
God cannot be bribed, His power cannot be auctioned, and His sovereignty cannot be challenged with UGX 200 million.
God still performs miracles, but He remains God, not a servant of human demands!
To God be the glory!

@AijukaAllan2112@URAuganda@AmosLugoloobi I have encountered VAT on many online subscriptions and Payments for tech related products. I guess it's the new normal
Dickson Sanyu worked as branch manager for Post Bank (now Pearl Bank) in Kabale. In 2021, even as he was battling COVID-19, the bank went ahead and set unrealistic targets for him. It even put him on PIP.
When he failed to hit the targets, the bank dismissed him. He went to court.
The bank’s lawyer, Blair Kalivayo, told the court that COVID-19 was not a valid excuse since Sanyu had performed well in similar conditions in late 2020.
But Justice Musana was not moved, and he ordered the bank to pay Sanyu Shs 61 million for unfair and unlawful dismissal.

i think this is what @bridgetbagonza has been labourin' to say all day about the choice of "influencers" for this gig
as someone who's never been to murchison falls, i don't know how much a game drive costs, what accommodation options are available, how to get there, what a realistic itinerary looks like, what to pack, or what to avoid
with this video, i've now seen nyash and truly, i'm convinced to go to murchison
but that's the problem, no one's packin' up their bags to go to murchison based on such thoughtless and incompetent content
the people behind this campaign seem to have confused people who travel with travel creators
there's a difference between someone who documents their trips and someone whose content actually helps you plan yours
travel creators leave you informed
they give you guides, itineraries, budgets, hidden gems, dos and don'ts, and practical tips that make you think, "i can actually do this trip"
instead, we're seein' videos of nyash, folks drivin' recklessly on the road, etc
great for their personal brands, perhaps, but not necessarily for convincin' the average ugandan to visit a national park
if the objective is to increase domestic tourism, popularity shouldn't be the main selection criteria
expertise in creatin' travel content should
because at the end of the day, tourism marketin' shouldn't leave us wantin' to visit the "influencer" instead of the destination
