@Bob902661@CynicalPublius No. I’m just pointing out the obvious that someone who’s likely never lived away from home will experience things outside the family cocoon that they never have before. Your expectation of “certainty” is unrealistic.
@KTB_500@davis_winkie My bigger, unstated point was that your original post contained a logical fallacy. One could be critical of the cancellation decision while being true to the criticism of rotations. They were not mutually exclusive positions.
@KTB_500@davis_winkie Several SASC/HASC members signaled support for this back in 2024 in light of the original article on suicides. That doesn’t equate to full Congressional support, but it also means that it was possible if an administration pushed it. The easiest path would be to build a new ABCT.
@ArmyE0D@Sonic_Broom@JimLaPorta@infantrydort No. Before there was a department to rule them all, there was the Department of the Navy and the Department of War. The Department of the Navy oversaw the Navy and Marines and the Department of War oversaw the Army and the Army Air Force’s. The NSA of 1947 changed all this.
@ArmyE0D@JimLaPorta@infantrydort That was what is now the Department of the Army. Before it was the Department of Defense, it was the National Military Establishment. Before that, it didn’t exist.
@BradDuplessis Jackson sucked during the Seven Days Battles, droning like a Ranger student, took so long during the Maryland Canpaign that Lee almost got crushed, and then Jackson should have been crushed by Reynolds and Meade at Chancellorsville, but Hooker had a traumatic brain injury.
@AustinRiediger@MustacheBob2 Abraham Lincoln figured it out. “Lee’s army is your objective point.” What happened when Lee’s army surrendered? The fall of the rebellion government.
@amvetsupport BSMs are a combat award. It is not a peacetime award. It is a combat equivalent to a MSM. The “V” device for valor is what sets apart combat awards.
@BradDuplessis The best education I had to develop my critical thinking skills was taking econometrics courses. While understanding the linear algebra and calculus behind the statistics was good, it was the analysis identifying assumptions and connecting theory with methodology that was great.
@TwoRulesOfWar The WW2 Army had over 40 x 4-star and 5-star generals. The US has a broader, global mission today and has implemented best practices on jointness from WW2 that increased the number of commands for good reasons.
@ControlledPairs Poor sleep puts you on a path to dementia and Alzheimer’s. If old you is not you, you’re not growing old together. Make sure to get that checked out.
@thestinkeye@AllThingsCivil@SecWar Who was a better CINC, Abraham Lincoln, a backwoods militia CPT that never faced combat, or Jefferson Davis, with combat experience and former Secretary of War?
