Every year, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.
They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.
France also gave us this land as American soil. #MemorialDayWeekend
For the second year in a row, Oklahoma City is one of the top two big cities in which to live!
This ranking would have been inconceivable in the 1980s and 1990s, but it reflects an intentional strategy we’ve deployed ever since those challenging years. Across three decades, our residents have passed 15 votes totaling $10 billion of investment in our quality of life. Now, we’re enjoying what happens when you invest in your city.
Enjoy this moment, OKC, and know that it’s not coming to an end anytime soon, because we have nearly $5 billion of that investment still rolling out over the next few years.

Lousy weather in DC, took my little guy to the mall to get some new hoop shoes. Took me back to Irving’s Sports with my pop getting my first Dr. J’s. I was over the moon.
Reminded me that we do so much on line because of convenience, but the feeling for a kid to be in a store full of sneakers and getting to pick one is HIGH on the list of kid feelings.
Know this about Ted Turner...
If not for him:
-The Braves leave Atlanta.
-The Hawks leave Atlanta.
-No TBS.
-No CNN.
-Atlanta loses its "international" status and probably loses the Olympics.
-Coke probably relocates.
-WCW Wrestling never comes to fruition.

Rick Pitino just sounded off on the NCAA’s media policy:
"You should let the losing team go first, and then let the winning team have as long as you want. Just a suggestion. You just left us hanging out there for over a half hour.”
Former colleagues remember Tampa Bay Times sports writer Joey Knight: ‘One of the best’
Knight died Feb. 20 after a two-year battle with cancer, leaving behind many stories and a deep love for the Tampa Bay community.

The hero of the Washington Post's Olympics coverage was sports editor @JasonMurray117 . His staff had been laid off but each day he was there to edit and publish our stories. He kept us going.
I don’t know what to say about Joey that hasn’t been written or beautifully expressed today and all of it is true.
If you read his stories, the word “surreal” appears often. And that’s how this day has felt. Surreal.
I’m heartbroken for his family and friends, especially his children whom he loved so much and talked about with me often. Joey lived life that was without arrogance or harshness, but rather filled with grace, humility, and light. I was so fortunate to work closely with him for two years covering the Bucs.
He was kind to everyone he ever met. I know he was a man of great faith and because of that kind spirit, perhaps he just completed his journey much faster than the rest of us. Cancer took a lot from him but I never heard him complain. Not once. As John Romano wrote, he was at peace.
I went looking for a Bible verse because no words seem appropriate. It’s 2 Timothy 4:7 where the Apostle Paul writes “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." We will all miss Joey terribly and pray for his family and all those who loved him.
#Rays manager Kevin Cash opened his morning media session with condolences on the passing of @TB_Times sports writer Joey Knight:
"High school sports, Little League sports, and then obviously local colleges, he did a hell of a job as a writer. Certainly thinking of his family and everybody at the Times."
I’m crushed learning about the passing of JOEY KNIGHT 57 who was so kind & helped me in raising $$$ for kids vs cancer thru @TheVFoundation .Joey loved chatting about the teams in our area. Joey served the Tampa area in a positive way May he RIP https://t.co/RX3zadb5La
