Hey all! I created a label called @insecurityhits to put out a charity compilation to benefit @BLMNYC and @williemaerock! The compilation is called Insecurity Hits Vol. 1 and is coming out on Friday June 18th. https://t.co/DXAIZ33kns
@a2im@CoveyLaw Two additional courses by my colleagues at CoveyLaw "Contracts & Equity: How New Thinking About Contracts is Making a Better Live Music Sector" and "What Entertainment Lawyers Need to Know About Immigration Law" can be found on A2IM's YouTube page.
‘@A2IM has posted video of a CLE program taught by Janis Shen and I at Indie Week last year entitled "Sync Licenses 101: The Best and Worst Syncs of the Year Are?" I really enjoyed working on this with Janis and my colleagues at @CoveyLaw !!! https://t.co/v2zQZqwiyf
Thank you to CoveyLaw for asking us to put together this course and to @A2IM for inviting @CoveyLaw to develop the courses for the CLE programming at last year's Indie Week!
Love hearing the riff for “Seven Nation Army” as a staple at sporting events. There’s no world where you’d think that would happen to a garage rock duo. I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be seeing getting large public performance royalties than Jack and Meg White!
my review of the new sleater-kinney album was just published. this band means so much to me. it's my 100th album review for pitchfork https://t.co/fBqW5u3JEr
So disappointing to hear about the layoffs at Pitchfork & it being folded into GQ. We need more pubs willing to write about the smaller artists existing at the margins, not less. Our band owes a lot to Jenn for her 2018 review. Really gutted for the many great writers affected.
@jennpelly@ryandombal@jillian_mapes So sorry to hear this Jenn. Thank you for what you’ve contributed so far with your music journalism which is a great deal. I’m confident great things lie ahead for you.
I closed out 2023 with my 2nd interview as a legal contributor with @Complex. I sat down with journalist Jessica McKinney to discuss when artists need permission to use voice notes or viral videos in their music!!! Thank you Jessica for the thoughtful discussion and write up!!!
Thank you @y_aniles of @post_trash_ for this excellent review of “Kill! Kill!” by FRIDA KILL! We appreciate the thoughtful exploration of the music, lyrics and influences of the band. This writing really gets where the band is coming from and where they are going!!!
