Most Gen Xers or older don't realize how much housing costs have increased vs wages and think that young people just need to work harder to buy a home.
Reality is that we need to drastically increase housing supply in all neighbourhoods to improve overall affordability.

Hope #yxecc keeps in mind that long term tax revenue matters more than the sale price, if the right project comes along. Cities are the only landowner that gets to sell their property AND collect rent.

Are you kidding me @StoonPubSchools? Please tell me absolutely every avenue was explored before deciding to demolish another beautiful historic building in our city.
The school will close at the end of this school year. Students will be transferred to King George School in the fall. The 95-year-old school building will be demolished.

@GlobalSaskatoon Instead of a story on the mountains of data supporting how high density mixed-use developments lower tax burden, reduce infrastructure debt, improve livability etc., you chose to run a story on the fears of one individual.
I expect a story on my fear of spiders, please.

@Chris_Guerette This type of development shouldn't even require a time consuming and costly rezoning process in the first place. Almost all neighborhoods inside Circle Dr. should be proactively rezoned to allow for multifamily mixed-use. Irresponsible fear-based journalism from @GlobalSaskatoon
@ctvsaskatoon Why on earth are you publishing a story about ONE person complaining? Not only is that not news, you are misrepresenting the issue based on one person's fear. How about a story on the many urban design studies on the benefits of increased density and mixed-use development?
Can't say how excited I am to be officially returning to the Startupville Podcast to host, and what a blast chatting with Tyler Lefley for my first full-length interview. Huge shoutout to @dangoldmedia for giving me big shoes to fill.
