Long suffering 43yr old Nottm Forest supporter. SE England based now, working in London. Pollitically neutral, they're all useless. Follow wide range of people.
@andyburnham Is this some kind of parody? Diesel is £2 a litre, migration is a joke, the country is screwed and you're talking about sitting next to each other on a plane?
🚨Jamie Carragher on Igor Jesus’ disallowed goal against Coventry:
🗣️ Jamie Carragher: “Forest will go home with no points today, but the big question will always be that disallowed goal.
I believe Igor Jesus’ goal should have stood. Yirenkyi goes down, VAR says Jesus clips his heel, but honestly, it’s incredibly soft.
Yes, there’s contact. I’m not denying that. But is that really enough to overturn a goal? I’ve seen much more contact allowed to go, and that inconsistency is becoming impossible to ignore.
Forest were on the receiving end of a horrible VAR decision today. When you look at the replay, you’re asking yourself how that can possibly be enough to rule out a goal.
It feels like VAR is searching for reasons to intervene instead of looking for clear and obvious errors. If this is the standard now, then every goal, every challenge and every bit of contact is going to be dragged under the microscope.
Forest had every right to feel furious. They fought for the result, found the breakthrough, and then watched it get wiped out over a touch that barely looked like a foul.
That decision completely changed the mood of the game. Instead of talking about Forest’s performance, everyone is talking about another baffling VAR call. That tells you everything.
They’ve lost the game, and that’s football. But this wasn’t just a minor decision. It was a massive moment, and in my opinion, Forest were badly let down by VAR.
If that goal is disallowed, then officials need to explain exactly what the threshold is. Because right now, nobody seems to know. The rules look different every week, and supporters are left feeling like the outcome depends on whoever is sitting in the VAR room.
Forest will feel robbed tonight, and honestly, I can understand why. That was not a clear and obvious error. It was VAR involving itself in a decision that should never have been overturned.”
Been better since Netz has come on because he’s improved the overall balance of the team. Left footer at left back. Pitch opened up. Balls in to box.
He could have started. Bad night for Dyche.
This is getting quite serious for the Chancellor.
In the run up to the Budget we were told that the OBR’s downgrading of productivity would create a multi-billon black hole. The government started preparing public opinion for a manifesto-breaking rise in income tax.
We were not told that rising wages and inflation meant more tax revenues to offset the productivity downgrade. But Rachel Reeves was.
By October 31 the OBR told Reeves that she was actually sitting on a £4.2 billion surplus. Yet four days later she gave a press conference in Downing Street at which she suggested that the watchdog’s forecasts were worse than expected and made the case for tax rises.
“What I want people to understand ahead of the budget, is the circumstances we face,” she said. “I could … sweep those challenges under the carpet. I am being honest with people.”
In fact, as we now learn, she was being the opposite of honest. She might not survive this.
What a moment…
✅ Out the bottom 3.
✅ Europa to look forward to on Thursday.
✅ Clean sheet.
✅ That’s 1 defeat in 6 since Dyche came in.
✅ Players look fit, motivated and together.
✅ We have the old Milenkovic/Murillo back.
✅ Sels much more assured today.
✅ Morgan looks a new player.
✅ Options from bench look good and will get better.
✅ Omari looks good.
✅ 2 goals for our right back this season BTW.
If we can pull clear from bottom 3 now, we can really focus on going deep in the Europa league. We could still be in for a good season you know.
Don’t worry about a thing, cos every little thing is gonna be Sean Dyche. #NFFC
But the top 1% of UK taxpayers now pay 33% of all income tax Everyone screaming tax the rich, but let that sink in That’s just 500,000 people contributing £93.8 BILLION in the 2024 tax year
A £150k earner pays £53,460 in tax
A £25k earner pays £2,486
It takes 21 people on £25k to contribute what one person on £150k does
So when Labour talk about ‘making the rich pay their fair share’, they already are
Keep hammering high earners, entrepreneurs & business owners, & they’ll KEEP leaving
Dubai, Monaco, Portugal are all rolling out the red carpet
And the budget looks like it will only get worse The UK doesn’t need higher taxes, it needs spending wastage cut, better incentives to build & invest & a full cultural shift AWAY from the politics of envy
This afternoon the Prime Minister said he would do everything to keep Jews safe. And this evening thousands of people are literally roaming the streets chanting about killing Jews, and eradicating the only Jewish state. It is a day of utter shame for our country.
Team selection was all wrong. Dominguez hasn’t even had a pre season & throws him in like that. Why? Dropping a striker bang in form with 4 goals in 2 starts. Wood done absolutely nothing. Ndoye needs to spend a few weeks in the gym.
Players can’t finish their dinner. Poor night. #NFFC
It's fascinating how a small handful of Western countries are just supposed to be OK with illegal immigration when it is not tolerated anywhere else in the world.
Madness.
I am SO bored of being governed by virtue-signalling rank amateurs. It's been DECADES.
Look around. Almost every town centre is a dump, nothing works, packed roads, hospitals falling apart, unpoliced crime.
Nobody cares! It's just normal now.
We ALL deserve so much better.
For many who run a small business or the self-employed, this upcoming period is pretty much the only time of the year when you can properly relax. Trying to describe the ongoing stress and pressure of going alone is not easy, I know - I've been there and done that. It is very bloody difficult.
No sick days, no paid holiday, no 9-5. It is a constant weight on your mind.
But this is what business is about. You took the risk, I really hope it's paying off. I think politicians who have never done that, simply cannot understand it.
Take Reeves - comfortable job, zero risk, no gamble. She just doesn't get what it takes to run a business. Jokes aside about her professional career, and there are questions to answer, she's never done it. Never tried. Will never understand.
So when she slaps this employment tax on hardworking risk-takers, trust me when I say this - she has no idea of the real world consequences.
They are driving the economy off a cliff. Will that affect Labour MPs? Actually affect them? No, of course not. Food will be on the table, their children won't go hungry. MP salaries will remain the same.
Can that be said for thousands and thousands of business owners/sole traders across the country? Sadly, the answer is it's going to be a very challenging time.
I really do feel for people trying to make a business work in the current climate. Incentives are getting less and less. Regulation is getting increasingly complicated. More and more will look at it and simply think - what's the point? Why take the risk?
MPs argue about this and that in Westminster, with no real thought to how these abstract concepts of tax and regulation actually affect people.
If you're out there, giving it a go - for what it's worth, you've got my utmost respect. I hope you can enjoy some time off over the next week or so. If you're still at it, I sincerely wish you a productive festive season.
Going into 2025, please stick with it. Reeves won't be there forever. We are doing our best to bring some common sense back to Westminster.
