The problem: AMI-CS associated with significant morbidity & mortality w/o much change in >20 yrs
NCSI is a single arm, multi-center study evaluating the feasibility & effectiveness of using early MCS w Impella in AMI-CS.
Importantly we included large community programs!
Final results of NCSI published!

Really enjoyed being with the GWU team in D.C. discussing the STEMI DTU RCT and their experience enrolling in the trial. Great group of cardiologists, intensivists, surgeons, fellows and research coordinators with a passion for this study. @NavinKapur4@BillONeillMD@GreggWStone
1/4 “Optimal Large-Bore Femoral Access, Indwelling Device Management, and Vascular Closure for Percutaneous Mechanical Circulatory Support” in @AmJCardio: (“soup to nuts”, operator-focused, and “real world”) led by @yadersandoval👍: https://t.co/qKJvCgxMl6 …
Honored to connect with #DTU Operators and Teams from NJ and to meet a Thriving DTU patient of @HaroonFarazMD Let’s increase awareness of the devastating effect of #reperfusioninjury in STEMI and #unload to reduce the burden of post-MI #heart failure & achieve recovery @Abiomed
Congratulations to Jacob Muller, and the entire DanGer Shock team on completing the 360 pt trial in CS. Challenging trial, that took 10 years and the whole MCS space has changed in that time, but important trial that along with ECLS-shock and Recover IV will shape this field

Congrats @Babar_Basir & @PedroMDMSc on winning @SCAI 30 in Their 30s awards, recognizing ‘early-career interventionalists who epitomize the qualities expected of future leaders in interventional cardiology.’ We are lucky to have you at @HenryFordHealth @HFHCardioFellow !
Terrific talk #ACC2023
Impact of #ShockTeams on patient outcomes by Shock Team faculty @TriStarHealth in Nashville. @AnnGageMD lead a great case discussion recounting the management decisions resulting from collaboration between interventional cardiology, surgery & heart failure
Excited to be part of the future of transvalvular ventricular #unloading with the #Impella#ECP from @Abiomed First and only center in New England to offer this 9Fr #innovation for complex #PCI to our patients and IC/HF Fellows @TuftsMedicalCtr Single Angioseal on the way out!
FIRST CASES OF THE ABIOMED PIVOTAL IMPELLA ECP STUDY....
@Ascensionorg St. John in Detroit, with @DrAmirKaki
Fantastic ECP device performance: easy AoV crossing, LV position optimized, high pump flows & excellent hemodynamic support during 2 unprotected left main Protected PCI
Congratulations to @DrTedSchreiber@DrAmirKaki@tlalondemd for the first enrollment into the CERAMICS trial at St Johns Hospital in Detroit!! What are the outcomes of consecutive AMI-CS patients treated at sites with MCS escalation capabilities! @BillONeillMD@Mike_Hacala
Really excited to expand #ISOSHOCK to stage B and pts treated with medications, iabp or impella for shocked. Randomized based on level of support and SSO2 therapy vs control
We honestly can get AMI-CS mortality to <10% in the next 10-20 yrs. This should be our generations goal. In the same way our contemporaries have for STEMI and AS/TAVR! 100% believe this is achievable!! We have a reliable way of treating AMI-CS #NCSI#shockprotocol#shockteam#mcs
