After working with the senior exec during last year I thought I'd ask if I could speak with the Vice Chancellor to share my thoughts. Turns out I have a call today.

I received formal notification of my redundancy today, drawing this chapter of 15 years of my professional life to a close.

The most heartbreaking thing so far about the La Trobe restructure is taking to my amazing, dedicated team about their future prospects.
There's no focus on learning in the new structure in IT, and no map for them to follow.

The potential end of my employment with @latrobe has been sent to me in a bulk email this morning.
Many of my colleagues will have had similar experiences today, but hopefully their senior management has taken the time to acknowledge them.
I'm deeply saddened.

@ErinChancellor @gamerlearner Yep, that's the whole entire point of ring lights - there isn't a shadow cast by it being at a different angle to the lens. :)
It doesn't need to be the brightest thing in the room, but will probably struggle if you have a window behind you, for example.

@kattekrab I still have a love for ugly-but-highly-efficient interfaces. These are also human-centred design, but more for the particular headspace occupied by engineers and administrator types instead of 'every user' spaces.
