@XFreeze@elonmusk@boringcompany There may be something here but this is an apples to oranges comparison so not that useful. Subway costs include things like stations in high density urban areas. Also traditional subways use larger diameter tunnels.
Kudoo’s to @cityofnanaimo for showing how it is done with an only a fraction of MOTT’s available budget. Great rebuild of Metral Drive is safer for all including people walking on bike and driving. Separate protected space tor those at different speed..
Biking the Vancouver island coastal circle route could be great. Except gaps like this. Does @TranBC have this on the radar? Suggest widened shoulder with bike path behind barrier. Short stretch by nanoose where the highway 19 is the only option. Safe design is possible!
They say one bikes to shop. Yet this October day in east Van there were more bikes than cars in the parking lot. Imagine what it could be if there were safe and comfortable bike lanes connecting shops.
I point out that David Eby has never signed the front of a paycheque in his life, nor has he donated anything significant to anyone other than the NDP party. Chip Wilson has signed 10’s of thousands of paycheques and donated 10’s of millions to BC charities. It is sad that socialists don’t celebrate the success that provides all the $$ they love to spend.
Do you live, work or travel through the Coal Harbour area along Dunsmuir/Melville streets downtown?
We want your feedback on our proposed 2-way protected bike lane & other safety upgrades.

NEW: Teenager blasts woman with a pressurized hose at a car wash after the driver rolls her window down and throws a drink at her.
Instant karma.
The incident happened at an Indiana car wash while 18-year-old Anna Harycki was working.
"I picked up the pressure washer and started spraying down their car. The girl rolled down her window and threw lemonade at me, and I was in shock."
Harycki said her immediate "reaction" was to just blast the driver with the water.
The customer and her boyfriend were then banned from the car wash for life.
Another thing we know is probably bad is the overuse of automobiles in cities. (including electric). Many health, noise, and safety impacts). Maybe should tax a few other things as well to balance the good
We should not, for example, impose draconian laws on farmers or make citizens uncomfortable by limiting air-conditioner usage!
Keep tax revenue constant, but shift it to tax what is probably bad (CO2), just like alcohol & cigarettes are taxed more than fruits & vegetables.
