This week I will be sharing some of the local funding my team and I was able to secure for organizations throughout my district during last week's @MA_Senate Budget Debate.

As we come off Memorial Day, I am glad to share the news about several pieces of local Veterans funding!

The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation. “It’s a way we can all help put the memorial back in Memorial Day."

I cannot stress the importance of the #MentalHealthABCAct @SenJohnVelis mentions. Mental Health is a problem in our country, and among our veterans. @DoleFoundation is looking at mental health for military caregivers, and @HJFMilMed @VA_PTSD_Info and others are doing research.

This afternoon the @MA_Senate adopted my amendment making Veterans discharged under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" finally eligible for state benefits from
@MassDVS.

I am grateful to @KarenSpilka for her leadership and all my colleagues for their support.
