Great article by the @OpinionTribune ! Our bridge is home at the trailhead site! Lots of engineering is underway now as it’s in the new floodway map, so it need a lot of approvals. With this bridge, we will move quickly to improve safety to walk to school.
By the end of the day...All three sections will be home. Thank you Vinton Enterprises for the excellent work!
This is a recycled bridge so we’ll need some volunteers to help grind down the old screws and other prep work. Then we wait DNR approval to place it.
@GlenwoodIA
Dearest Cob, when you are ready to Bike Across Iowa @MillsCountyIowa has great places for you to dip your tire in the Missouri River. I’d encourage a little time on the @wabashtrace while you are here!
"Cob" likes to play pickleball and wants to see the monuments in Washington, D.C.!
Don't forget to vote for the National Thanksgiving Turkey! Polls are open for 24 hours.
Lastly - THANK YOU! This is a huge collaborative effort with the Glenwood Schools, City of Glenwood, MCTB, Mills County, Golden Hills RC&D - And many many more groups and people.
Stay tuned!
We are pleased to announce that @MillsCountyIowa has approved $75,000 to support the Glenwood Trail and Trailhead Project!
We plan on starting construction in 2020 pending a few last funding options!
We are close to a point where we will need volunteers to help with welding projects, creating debris, building a biocell, etc. Keep your eyes and ears ready for the call out for help!
There are roughly 1.5 miles of critical trail needs that includes 3 bridges. Another bridge and roughly 1 to 1.5 miles are less critical but important for wellness. We’ll be efficient with prioritization. A big cost consideration is the bridge to cross Keg Creek.
Due to a lack of @iowadot support we may have to cut a few miles and bridges, but we have an urgent need to improve safety and access for our students and citizens immediately. @KimReynoldsIA
