RRI coalition member and Sengwer leader @MillyChepkorir tells a packed audience at #APAC2022:
"To say that traditional, militarized conservation is in the past is a lie. As I speak it is happening to my brothers and sisters. But today at APAC, we hope this will and can change."
CEMIRIDE is seeking a consultant to conduct a baseline survey on human rights (specifically indigenous peoples’ rights with a particular focus on pastoralists), conflicts and climate change and how they impact on food security. More details below.https://t.co/ICiM1QeIV9
We had a candid discussion on the mental health of journalists during the COVID-19 pandemic at the #EastFest21. My challenge to journalists in Kenya and the region was to invest in mental wellness as a matter of priority as we push decision-makers to do their part. #IamCJAK
Later the Chairperson held a forum with the Members of the Sengwer community where she called for increased civic education programmes to the community to ensure they benefit from both national and county programmes and opportunities . @Governor_Tolgos@kipmurkomen@MutindaDr

The National Gender and Equality Commission is holding a 3 day event witj the Sengwer of Embobut. It is very delighting to see this happening at last
I condemn the recent burning of 50 houses at Maron in Embobut forest area. This has negatively affected the Sengwer ethnic minority of Kenya. @CollinsLiko@olando_ouko
#Istandwiththeogiek Its always sad to report the trauma facing the Ogiek over series of evictions, on 8th July 2020 over 300 Ogiek were evicted in Mariashooni of East Mau with total disregard of Ogiek African Court ruling of 2017 in their favour and Covid19 Moratorium.
As we mark this day and celebrate this report; at @naturaljustice we firmly believe that an integrated and inclusive approach to conservation is the best way forward. The world is moving towards this type of model. #IStandWithTheOgiek
