#LoanCharge removes taxpayer certainty & undermines the Rule of Law.
I've written to @sajidjavid asking for an immediate pause & independent review. I will be working with all MPs, @loanchargeAPPG & @LCAG_2019 to #STOPtheLoanCharge
I would also investigate if elected TSC Chair
If you missed my interview for @BBCr4today with Gayle @G39610460 , which accompanies this article on the Loan Charge https://t.co/rV3iJbZKuU
@LCAG_2019@loanchargeAPPG@lcag then you can hear it here: https://t.co/CcLiHGRSxx
@BorisJohnson @sajidjavid @grantshapps sadly this is how many of us feel. We followed the advice of regulated accountants only to be destroyed decades down the line. Govt sponsored mental health abuse! https://t.co/8SUuseJfte
The #LoanCharge debacle was badly handled by the previous Tory Government and by HMRC. @BorisJohnson promised a full review if he was elected as Tory Leader. Time to deliver @10DowningStreet.
I have written to the Prime Minister asking for an independent review of the #loancharge. We should ensure everyone pays their fair share of tax, but we must find a suitable resolution to this unfair retrospective charge. @LCAG_2019@loanchargeAPPG
@StephenLloydEBN@BorisJohnson you said "It seems superficially unjust to me that they should then be retrospectively pursued for what they were told was an entirely legal option. It needs a proper independent review."
PLEASE DO NOT follow in the footsteps of so many that reneage once in power!
As both a constituency MP and Vice-Chair of the @loanchargeAPPG I've seen first-hand the devastating impact that the loan charge has had on individuals & families.
That's why I've written to the Chancellor Sajid Javid calling for a delay & independent review into the LC.
📝 I have written to our new Prime Minister @BorisJohnson and Chancellor @sajidjavid calling on them to take immediate action on the unfair and retrospective loan charge.
With a new Government in place it’s time for an independent review of this policy.
