A neat little detail in the Gundam Hathaway films that I think is very South Australian is the fact that the Adelaide Conference logo uses the state colours (blue, red, and yellow) and it kind of looks like a Sturt Desert Pea (the state flower)

Authenticity in media is subjective. In fact I'd say that it is mostly illusory. It is a way of describing relationship that exists between a person and something they experience. Accept this, and you can can make peace with the idea that authenticity isn't a universal strength.

If you value 'authenticity' in a work then that is part of your own personal taste. There is a line between 'authentic' and 'not authentic' and everyone draws it differently. And so it cannot be universally applied. And so you shouldn't expect everyone to care about authenticity.
