@JetBlue After 14 flights w/t you in the last year, I will cancel my CC & stop flying with you. Flight cancelled after 12 AM, was told that I can be compensated for taxi/Uber, waited to file claim to be told crew issue is not in their control. Spent $2000 for flight back.
@JetBlue cancelling my credit card and never flying with you again. flight cancellation, gate agent telling me I can get compensation for transportation, spending $2000 on a return flight, only to wait hours trying to file a claim to be told that a crew issue is not their control
@KathleenDBrody @AKayumAhmed1 I think if we were to use violence to decolonize that we would have to use it carefully and intentionally to ensure that the violence comes from a justice seeking lens rather than from a place of rage and destruction. #P8607
@AKayumAhmed1 Fanon explains a paradox where the oppressor is able to use violence and paint it as a necessary means whereas the oppressed are expected to practice non-violence. We can see this play out when contrasting George Floyd protests to the Capitol protest and the media reaction.#P8607
@alyssa_besser@AKayumAhmed1 I agree with you! Art can be used to stir a different population of people who otherwise might not care if we just presented raw statistical data and analyses. #P8607
@AKayumAhmed1 Statistical data appeals logos, appealing to logic. Art is able to provoke pathos, appealing to the audience's emotions, and through art as a medium we can appeal to emotions (anger/ empathy) of people to stir them to advocate for justice and human rights. #P8607
@TaylorH1982 @EmmaWarshaw @AKayumAhmed1@Columbia@usnews@nytimes The press is also an outlet that builds awareness for the public. While Columbia doesn't matter to most people, the press could still be used and distributed to people who do care about Columbia such as donors. #P8607
@AKayumAhmed1@Columbia@usnews@nytimes As Columbia is at a point where they should probably do everything they can to improve their reputation and brand, students should use this time to advocate for changes that would benefit the community or the student population by leveraging the press. #P8607
@alyssa_besser@AKayumAhmed1 This is a great point! I think they share similarities in how they view human rights as something essential, but have different approaches of executing and advocating for human rights. If they came together, they would both help advance human rights further. #P8607
@AKayumAhmed1 Natural scholars who believe that human rights are inherent could work together with protest scholars who see human rights as a mechanism to advocate for justice so that the ideology behind human rights is strengthened and disseminated. #P8607
