Really amazing work! Neuropixels has built up great spatial resolution. So is it possible that part of the “peaks” in neural recordings are results of neural-probe distance change, rather than the transmembrane potential change?
Introducing Neuropixels Ultra, a new probe with >10x site density: an implantable voltage camera capturing complete planar images of neurons' electrical fields in vivo! ⬆️ spike sorting yield, ⬆️ detection of small fields and ⬆️ cell type identification.🧵

@SteinmetzNeuro Really great work, thank you! 👏 Even if the transmembrane potential distribution is steady along time, the change of neuron-probe distance could induce “peaks” in the neural recordings. So, does this relative distance change attributes to the recorded action potential “peaks”?

Very happy to see our review paper of Moiré photonics and optoelectronics published on @ScienceMagazine! Many thx/congratulations to all authors & all supports! @AaltoResearch @flagshipprein@QTFinland https://t.co/sdmDRih3Oz
I'm excited to announce our preprint for the Neuropixels 1.0-NHP probe. This represents a large-scale collaborative effort to develop high-density electrodes for neural recording in large animal models like nonhuman primates. https://t.co/z5hv70VZKc
