We hear a lot about putting Christ at the center of our lives. But what does that mean in practice? Elder Christofferson gave some great counsel in this 2016 article in the New Era:
How to Make Christ the Center of Our Lives

@Cbasschronicles@CaitlinJustini "Purchasing the book adds fuel to the fire" Great way to put it.
Reminds me of all the LDS who watch Secret Lives of Mormons wives
“I’m so sick of watching Church members bend over backwards to prove how compassionate, open minded, and understanding they are toward people who have left the Church and become openly antagonistic toward it.
“There is a point where that stops being Christlike compassion and becomes foolishness. And far too often, it feels less like genuine love and more like a performance meant to establish… ‘Look how open minded I am. Look how willing I am to engage. Look how enlightened and with the times I am.’
“Imagine a somewhat prominent Nephite reading the writings of Korihor and then publicly announcing to the other Nephites that he had read them as though giving Korihor’s arguments greater exposure were somehow evidence of his compassion or intellectual maturity.
“Compare that with what actually happened when Korihor took his message to Jershon and Gideon. They didn’t congratulate themselves for being open minded enough to entertain his arguments. They recognized what he was trying to do, bound him, and had him removed.
“There is a difference between loving and trying to understand people who have left the Church and voluntarily giving a platform to ideas whose purpose is to tear down faith. Discernment is not a failure of compassion.”
My friend (Not_Ssmob3-doesn’t want to be tagged😆) shared this post with me. And these thoughts. They are spot on.🔥
I'll say it again, if I had to choose amongst all the religions of the world I'd choose The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints every single time. Not just because it's my religion but because it's the only one that makes complete sense. Mock me if you must but it's true!
I converted to the Church in my '30s. I immediately got a phone call from my secular friends saying I had joined a cult and urging me to leave. I said: I had an alcohol problem before I joined the Church, and now I don't. Why would you want me to go back to that? No answer.
The new schedule for Sundays is an answer to prayers for me. My kids spend every other weekend with their other parent who does not attend church. My 12 year old son who is a new Deacon, has only been to 1 Deacons Quorum meeting and it's the end of March.
For my entire life and beyond, the leaders of the Church have warned about Satan’s attack on the family.
Thirty years ago, that warning was extended to the entire world.
Despite these clear and repeated warnings, many have embraced the deceptions of the adversary.
There’s a reason God sends prophets. We ignore them at our peril.
When our son was home from BYU for Christmas, he mentioned that he sees more people with Down’s syndrome in UT than anywhere else.
I’ll never forget the look of realization on his face when I told him it’s because most people don’t abort them there.
