Alienation=Isolation. Isolation=coervive control.. WHO "they" may ask is the one isolating the child in that case? Who is counter claiming the alleged domestic abuse??? Who is switching justifiable into unjistifiable rejection
It is indeed the scandal of our time, when the choices facing victims & survivors of DA is to flee to a place of isolation and poverty, risk losing care of children to abusers or keep quiet to appease the abusers and their enablers and put the children at risk
We absolutely understand why mums consider fleeing - to Hague or non-Hague countries - to keep themselves & their children safe.
There's no adequate protection, no safe solution for mums in these circumstances. Not in the UK. Not anywhere.
1. To stay means further abuse 1/5
It’s the biggest issue in my inbox as well. It’s heartbreaking and beyond frustrating that @jessphillips and I, and many others, have been calling on Govt for years to urgently reform family courts. But change is too slow and victims of serious crimes are being placed at risk.
Are you a mother who is or has been involved in Hague Convention abduction proceedings? There’s still time to complete this survey, a unique opportunity to have your say
“This isn't a bad judge. This isn't a rogue court in one part of the country. This is a tactic of abusers that is being used across every part of our country." https://t.co/rcVVT7xlNz
Thank you @BBC and @EdThomasNews and the brave survivors for shining a light on the huge systemic problems in family court that those of us researching and campaigning for years have encountered. What you are doing in bringing this to public attention is vitally important 🙏
We called for mandatory training in the DA Act for family court judiciary on abuse but Govt blocked it. Lack of expertise is leading to victims’ disclosures of serious abuse being dismissed and weaponised against them and reframed as ‘frustrating contact’. https://t.co/TVaWaVhI59
When, after Re H-N, the President said that DA training was mandatory for all family court judges, I sent an FOI asking how many had done it. They refused to answer.
If I had known what family court was like I wouldn't have stepped foot through the door
Unfortunately for many when they reach out for help from social services, police etc and the perpetrator is emboldened in their behaviour refuses to return your child you're left wirh no choice.
If I knew what I would be facing I would have taken my son and left quickly to somewhere safe.
My latest blog has arrived! Domestically Abusive Men Describe WHY They Criticize Women's Mothering:
Abusers explain their reasons for exploiting what it means to be a good mother, in their own words.

'The law will now require judges to consider the decades of physical abuse and emotional torment faced by these victims' - @David_Challen in his latest blog.
A long overdue and welcome change.
Women should not be forced to ‘take the high road’ and tell their children they should respect a violent man because they will always ‘be their father’ - No - blood is not thicker than abuse. We don’t respect violent people. We protect children from violent people.
