Former DA, ActionSA and uMkhonto weSizwe Party member Abel Tau has joined the United Progressive People Alliance (UPPA), which has selected him as its mayoral candidate for the City of Tshwane.

Tau made the announcement during a media briefing in Pretoria on Wednesday, outlining a colourful political journey that has seen him move between several political organisations.

His career began in the DA and later included roles in ActionSA, the MK Party, UAT and TTA. Tau has also been involved in founding two political parties. POLLING ALERT TSHWANE! 🚨🚨📢📢
DA at 43% and VF+ 8%!

Could this be the city's next coalition!

Recent independent polling shows the DA in Tshwane is holding strong while the ANC craters.

In the space of 4 months ANC support has dropped 10% points. Meanwhile the VF+ has surged higher as the party's campaign locks with voters. The DA will be watching this closely but the party continues to hold its support. Brink's campaign is landing.

Finally we have some more consistent showing of MK (difficult to poll in GP). Sitting at around 5%.

It looks like ANC and EFF support has fallen off a cliff, the parties are getting chowed by everyone. The DA, ActionSA, MK, maybe even the VF+. EFF support is half of what it was.

With the election less than 3 months away, voter patterns now become very sticky. 70% of voters have already made up their minds. As such you can treat all incoming polls as highly credible.

Could the DA and VF+ be the next coalition in Tshwane?

The DA is now the biggest party in Tshwane, and if this polling holds they will be the biggest party among black voters as well in the city. Could this be the start of political reliagnment in the country?
