Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri @mlkhattar, chaired the Parliamentary Consultative Committee Meeting of the @MinOfPower in Chandigarh. The meeting focused on the crucial subject of Grid Stability in the context of rising electricity demand, large-scale renewable energy integration, and the increasing share of inverter-based resources.
The Hon’ble Minister highlighted the importance of a reliable, flexible, and resilient grid to support India’s clean energy transition. Members deliberated on key measures to strengthen grid stability, including transmission augmentation, energy storage, renewable energy forecasting, and the deployment of technologies such as STATCOMs and synchronous condensers for voltage stability and system strength. The Committee appreciated the ongoing initiatives of the @MinOfPower and resolved to collectively work towards building a robust, secure, and future-ready power grid for the nation.

The India–Oman CEPA strengthens this partnership by improving market access and supporting long-term growth in agricultural trade. India is Oman’s second-largest agricultural supplier, with exports spanning rice, fruits, meat, eggs, biscuits and condiments.
Improved competitiveness for seafood exports such as shrimp and cuttlefish is expected to support export growth, value addition and employment in India’s coastal economy.

The India–Oman CEPA provides immediate duty-free access for Indian marine products, creating new opportunities in a market with significant untapped potential.
Measures such as fast-track authorisations, mutual recognition of GMP standards, and simplified compliance norms are expected to strengthen pharmaceutical trade and deepen healthcare cooperation.
