Remembering longtime U.S. Senator Thad Cochran who died today at age 81. He served our state, in Congress, for over four decades. While in Washington D.C., It was always an honor to talk to him about the state of education in Mississippi and on the national level.

I was one of the volunteers at South Central Regional Medical Center's Children's Health Fair in Laurel. Hundreds of boys and girls with their parents and guardians showed up at South Central Place to learn how to stay healthy in a fun interactive way.

Me with family as we celebrate the graduation of my great nephew Jaden Harris. He graduated from Liberty Technology Magnet High School with honors. He never used his disabilities as an excuse to not be the best he can be. I am so proud of his successes.

I want to wish all mothers a Happy Mother's Day. I am thankful I could spend the day with my beautiful 81 year old mother and other family members. God is good.

I enjoyed reading to the children at Nora Davis Magnet School in Laurel. It was part of the Dr. Seuss birthday celebration. I encouraged the children to love reading.

The Lifetouch Memory Mission trip will be forever etched for in my mind. As a volunteer I went on the trip hoping to change lives in the community of Constanza Rio Grande Dominican Republic but the truth is I was changed by the people I went to serve. https://t.co/PjflUhx9Zc

Murrah High School Choir in Jackson gets a standing ovation from hundreds of public education leaders. The choir's awesome performance was done at the 46 Annual Conference of the Mississippi School Boards Association today in the Capitol City.

At the State Capitol today in Jackson Mississippi meeting with lawmakers on public education legislation. I joined several other education leaders for this "Day at the Capitol" event that is organized by the Mississippi School Boards Association.
