To fight infections, we build a seemingly infinite variety of antibodies. How is this achieved on a molecular level? Scientists from the lab of Meinrad Busslinger now found a new principle underlying the generation of diverse antibodies.

It’s finally out. We could show that Bhlha15 is essential for the regulation of antibody secretion. This wouldn’t have been possible without @theresa_pinter and the other great authors, especially Meinrad Busslinger and the @IMPvienna#bhlha15#xbp1#Pcs

I did a thing. Not alone of course but with the help of my amazing lab, the Busslingers. Biggest thank you goes to co-first author @MiriamWohner who started the project and did a lot of experiments to investigate the role of Mist1 (Bhlha15) in plasma cells.
We're happy to share the latest results from the lab of Meinrad Busslinger in @FrontImmunol: Mist1 keeps #antibody secretion down to healthy levels & promotes plasma cell viability.
Congrats to co-first authors @theresa_pinter and @MiriamWohner!

In their study in @FrontImmunol, @theresa_pinter and @MiriamWohner from the lab of Meinrad Busslinger used #CRISPR-Cas9 screens to identify novel factors that affect #plasmablast development.

First tweet and going all out with sharing the publication of our study in @FrontImmunol. Big thank you to the Busslinger Lab, @MiriamWohner, @johannes_zuber Lab and everyone else involved!
Plasmablast and B cell-enthusiats, check it out here:

I'm super excited that our latest paper was published in Frontiers of Immunology today. Big thanks to Theresa Pinter, the Busslinger and the @johannes_zuber lab and the @IMPvienna
Do you have a favorite gene? Check out if it's essential for plasmablasts
