@EMQBets There are definitely strong comparisons during the scenes that take place on earth. The blight, dust bowl and overall exodus. But it stops once the story brings us to outer space/other dimensions.
What similarities do you see beyond the early Earth parts?

@FeckWLT Inferno, where the 9 circles of hell are mapped, is just one of three parts of the overall Divine Comedy.
As for the correlation, that is what the video covers, piece by piece.
@markpoling West Side Story was an intentional adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.
Interstellar’s connection to the Divine Comedy is not overtly intentional and requires close comparison to see.
@DecodingPoliti2 Understood! As a Dante fan I agree. My point is that Interstellar is borrowing from the story of the Divine Comedy, not that they are equal in any way.
Check out the video and see if the comparisons hold up!
Curious why so many people are calling Frankenstein’s Creature from Guillermo del Toro’s new movie ‘Adam’?
That’s not a coincidence. He is even briefly referred to by that name in the movie and Mary Shelley is rumored to have called him that in personal letters.
