🎓 The 2025 School of Integrity is underway!

This week, Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z) with support from the Embassy of Sweden.

The programme brings together 25 young leaders from across Zimbabwe for an intensive week of learning, dialogue, and field experiences focused on integrity, transparency, and good governance.

At a time when corruption and low youth participation threaten progress, the School of Integrity is building a new generation of ethical leaders equipped to make honest, informed, and accountable decisions in their communities and careers.

Through workshops, field visits, and peer learning, participants are engaging directly with anti-corruption experts, policymakers, and institutions shaping the governance landscape in Zimbabwe.

🟡AGE OF SEXUAL CONSENT: Should the age of sexual consent be raised to 18 years? It currently ranges from between 12 to 16 years depending on the respective ages of the parties and whether the minor has “agreed.”

Should sex with a child under 18 years be criminalized further? What of sex between minors should it happen, Eg two sixteen year olds?

Some major legal reform is about to happen. I urge everybody to pay attention.

Thank you advocate @advocatemahere , you have raised an important issue here . I think we need to further strengthen child protection laws , introduce sex offence register , Worker screening checks to ensure that Teachers and those who work with children are monitored and if anyone is deemed unfit to work with children or young people will not be cleared to work with vulnerable children . There has be penalties and deterrence to manage behaviours
