All the same, it's worth to note that the actual local Meru name used by residents of Meru for Lake Alice is Lake Ithanguni (or Iria rĩa Ithanguni)....

@kash_elle @LilithBlack25 You're very right to question the paradox. I'd go in depth on this, but as a summary, the "Kikuyu sounding" names are a product of contemporary, indigenous to urban Kenyan hiking culture which leans heavily on the Gikuyu language due to the demographics.....
