say whatever about solana, but this is pretty funny and genius marketing video.

i have never written solana code or dived into the ecosystem deeply (apart from using phantom and jup), but day by day, i feel that solana is doing very very well. Not just talking about this video

there are multiple reasons for it imo from an outsider perspective:

1. good vibes
2. very tight and supportive community
3. no fighting for users + devs since there are not 100 rollups.

Dont get me wrong, i do like major L2s in ethereum ecosystem, but try to notice a pattern here in their marketing:

- glad to onboard xyz web2 company to build a rollup on our stack
- evm bad so we are recreating design
- we have 10 billion TVL
- points program if u use our chain over other chains
- zk is the endgame so we are building a zk enabled optimistic rollup
- xyz rollup's UX is bad
- y'all dont do XYZ correctly
- we are launching a consumer chain (that's 10th consumer chain of the year)
- blah blah blah, you get the point

Sharing my top 5 picks from yesterday's pitching:
+ @Solanasim depin can be the best gtm esp. when it is an everyday product. esim and sim combination, global coverage, token incentives, potential ad revenue and many more. solana sim might have an easier time getting users esp in emerging countries and creating impacts

+@PayWithRipe QR code financial rails, supporting SEA unbanked population. Essentially they enable crypto wallets such as Phantom to scan the QR codes in PayNow (sg), Gcash (philippines), Promptpay (thailand). they do off-ramp, forex, and send fiat to merchants in the background, real time. merchants have no idea its paid in crypto

+ @asgardfi defi native credit engine, unlock new liquidity, enter credit account era. there can be credit for margin trading on dex, credit for LPing in money market protocols, delta neutral strategies or vaults as well as airdrops/ points. EV+ for a lots of projects to collab with.

+ @memelutapp memelut, imagine tinder but for memecoins so you swipe to trade. apart from the trading aspect, memelut also combines features such as insta stories, user profile page and direct messaging. not sure yet if its over engineered but the adoption of memecoins can be wild. I might or might not swipe right for smoking chicken fish, keke

+ @havendotfan gtm stack for tokens, a toolkit/platform to help project reward their true token holders. Imagine a token holder terminal that shows you all the perks and benefits for you to claim, fun. maybe holding a token has more usage than just trading?

overall the quality of these demo day projects is quite good and diverse. congrats to all the founders from this season who made it to the founders' villa stage!
