With all the E20 Petrol now across India, noticing some issues in not so older cars, yes cars sold in the last 2-3 years are E20 compliant, but what about older cars @volklub

Is the Govt indirectly telling users not to buy Petrol cars as of now?

I have moved to EVs but reality is not everyone can do that and when ppl buy cars and keep them for 10-12 years so why force E20 Petrol on cars that are not designed for that engine, won’t it degrade those vehicles.

Despite my best efforts to fill XP100 in my late 2022 car, E20 refills had to be made, especially when away from tier 1 cities.

Then it happened. Misfired twice in the last 7 days. Lost power suddenly in the middle of the highway with a blinking check engine light. Thankfully, pulling over and restarting the engine fixed the issue temporarily and I was able to complete the long journey.

A diagnostic OBD scan is warranted, but I already know that it's either the spark plug, injector or one of the ignition coils.

To avoid this in future, I am going to stick to either XP100 or other higher octane fuel like XP95/Speed or Jio, Shell that have additives to minimise the damage, but never plain E20; because my car is only E10 compliant.
