The bomber, klansman Robert "Dynamite Bob" Chambliss was found not guilty of murder. He was given a $100 fine and 6 months in jail for having dynamite. 14 years later, Chambliss was found guilty of the murders when the trial was reopened.
On september 15th 1963, four little girls: Denise McNair(11), Carole Robertson(14),Addie Mae Collins(14) and Cynthia Dianne Wesley(14) were killed when white supremacists bombed the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham.
The bomber was found not guilty of murder.
