@EMurotake@Reuani@sfy_charl@Breadstick69420 I mean projection in the sense I don't feel it argues for that cohesively. It really seems to basically insist the Gundam is a good thing until it isn't. I don't hate it, I think it works in what it is (I'm not OP), but I do agree it has a generally different vibe tahn past stuff
@sfy_charl@Breadstick69420 This isn't me saying they should've let Zeon roll them over, but no matter how much the fight was required, Gundam would never look you in the eye and say "it was a good thing this happened"
@sfy_charl@Breadstick69420 That is the cycle of violence. Zeon thought Mobile Suits were needed to fight their war, the Federation made the Gundam in response... The true path to progress isn't through arms
Gundam is about the tragedy of war even if not necessarily about pacifism
@DeltyThe73rd That makes you go "really? That's supposed to be Gundam?"
I think most of all what made me dislike it is the implicit "isn't this super cool, humanity fuck yeah" aspect of it which even in the weirdest entries is a tone I feel the series has always avoided. 2/2
@DeltyThe73rd I feel Gundam often tries different things (Rerise was my fav series in the last two decades) but the issue is this genuinely feels like a random project with the brand slapped on. It's not the design, the gameplay or the enemies, but the combination of all of them 1/2
@WarMachineDD7@FactoryReeset@GoodVibePolitik It's not my place to speak for others. If you're interested in his argument, go watch it.
Ironically, that's the argument. He's been publicly open about his Palestine support for years, but redirects to others content because it isn't his place to talk about it as a focus
@Slifer__Slacker Got to talk to Jackson (lead writer) about Zayne in a con a few years back and he mentioned he based his "Force luck" on his own gambling days. He'd rarely win but he'd never wipe out.
@KaikiWexler R07 thought the censorship was a good way to both not fetishize the abuse and represent how you lock memories of trauma out.
The abuse is shown in more detail in side material. It's less outright sexual and more essentially torture, based on old horror stories of 1/2
@CarltonH351876@MagicalZazaS@TheNaughtyWill@AlpelDokkan Natalia in the novel specifically says mana is carried through sexual fluids. That, plus the fact mana transfer through physical affection is still referenced in all major material (Extra, FGO, Prillya, etc) is a clear sign Nasu hasn't given up on the idea.
