Many BJP spokespersons are foolish, uninformed, and arrogant.

They do not read about or understand the issues for which the govt is facing criticism before participating in TV debates or writing on social media. The only things they specialize in are shooting the messengers and using anecdotal arguments to claim that any criticism against the govt is a conspiracy by some lobby or the deep state. To them, the actual issue is not important; it is never addressed on its merits but simply dismissed as a conspiracy against India.

Such spokespersons do not add any value to the BJP. In fact, they repel potential voters with their arrogance, superficial arguments, and refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue.

Europeans are crying heatwave at 30-40 °C while we in India live comfortably even at 45-50 °C.

Actually, it's not a fair comparison. Temperature is not the only thing that decides how uncomfortable you'll feel in summer.

1. Humidity : India's peak summer heat is generally dry. In dry air, sweat evaporates instantly, which triggers the body's natural cooling mechanism. Europe’s heatwaves are heavily humid due to surrounding oceans. When the air is already saturated with moisture, sweat cannot evaporate; it sits on the skin, trapping internal body heat and creating a suffocating feeling. It's like, Mumbai 40°C feels significantly worse than a Delhi 40°C.

2. Architecture: European infra is engineered to trap heat, while Indian architecture is designed to reject it. European buildings feature thick insulation and double-glazed windows to survive freezing winters. During a heatwave, they act like ovens, absorbing heat all day and radiating it inward at night. Conversely, traditional Indian houses utilize high ceilings, cross-ventilation, marble or stone floors, and external awnings to block direct sunlight.

3. The AC deficit: Artificial cooling zones are standard infrastructure in hot regions of India through ACs or desert coolers. In contrast, residential AC is incredibly rare in Central and Northern Europe, present in fewer than 10% of homes. When a heatwave strikes, people have nowhere to hide, facing relentless exposure at home, on public subways, and in local shops.

4. Geography: Because Europe sits at a much higher latitude, summer days are significantly longer, with the sun setting as late as 10 PM. Buildings and asphalt are baked under direct sunlight for up to 16 hours a day. This leaves a brief 8-hour nighttime window that is too short for the ground and walls to cool down, causing the heat to compound aggressively day after day.

5. Acclimatization: Your body physically acclimatizes to its environment over time; populations in hotter climates naturally develop higher sweat rates and adjusted blood flow to handle thermal stress. Apart from that, Indian lifestyle adapts to the sun, streets empty out and businesses slow down during peak afternoon hours. Europe lacks this baseline, and because heatwaves are episodic, daily routines and heavy physical labor continue as normal, leading to rapid exhaustion.

Tango Charlie was quite a good war movie though it flopped. Liked the way how it depicts the journey of the protagonist Tarun Chauhan( Bobby Deol) from a rookie recruit, to a battle hardened soldier, and his encounters with Naxals, Bodo Militants and Jihadis. And his bonding with his mentor Havaldar Mohd Ali( Ajay Devgan).

Really good performances from Bobby Deol, Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Shett, the combat scenes were well shot too. This deserves a re release for sure.

26/11 was a night when Mumbai burned… and a 70-year-old man stood outside the Taj, refusing to leave.

While bullets echoed inside those heritage walls, Ratan Tata waited on the pavement for three days, not as an industrialist, not as a billionaire, but as a man who believed that leadership means standing with your people when they need you most. He wasn’t allowed to enter. He wasn’t given any special corridor. But he stayed.

Through the smoke, through the fear, through the long, endless hours. When the siege finally ended, he didn’t hold press conferences or give grand speeches. He visited every family who lost someone. He restored every part of the Taj stone by stone. And instead of building statues in memory, he built a Trust that still supports the victims of 26/11.

The terrorists wanted to break Mumbai. But Mumbai stood together and so did he.

On this day, we remember the lives lost. We honour the bravery that saved hundreds. And we remember that leadership isn’t measured in titles… but in the footsteps you refuse to walk away from.

Watched Lakshya again today.

We talk about Swades flopping despite being a great film, Lakshya deserves the same conversation. It remains one of the finest films made in India, and it still bothers me that it didn’t work.

A brilliant coming-of-age drama, great acting, outstanding music, and none of the forced melodrama typical of Indian war films, yet it still wasn’t enough.

Madvi Hidma, one of the most dreaded Naxal on the NIA’s most-wanted list with a ₹1 crore bounty, was killed today.

Born in a poor Sukma family, he was still a minor when urban Naxals indoctrinated him and pushed him into violence.

Reminder that Naxalism aimed to end class divide but paradoxically created its own: pampered urban communist elites on the top and disposable poor at the bottom.

The so-called “revolutionaries” in cities sipped coffee in gated colonies, lecturing India on oppression, while the gullible poor they indoctrinated were shoved into the jungle as cannon fodder. The elites built careers, fame, and book deals; the villagers they misled died like discarded pawns in a game rigged by armchair messiahs.

In the end, the blood spilled in those forests isn’t a "system’s failure”; it’s the direct result of urban communists’ lies and exploitation, selling the poor a utopia they always knew was fake.

Corporal Gursevek Singh, Shaurya Chakra (P) laid down his life during one of the biggest terrorist attacks India has ever faced…the Pathankot Air Force Station attack. He was the first casualty from the Indian forces’ side & fought a fierce gun battle with the Pakistani Fidayeen. His supreme sacrifice alerted the security forces to the terrorists presence inside the base, preventing a far greater tragedy. Married for just 45 days, he chose duty over life itself. While researching his story, I found hardly anything about the valour of this Garud who epitomises courage itself…there were Infact wrong accounts of his final battle … a bravery that saved countless lives. Based on the conversations with his comrades who were there fighting beside him read this Untold story in my book Wings of Valour & please pass it to your children as well.

1)Could be a nice initiative but there also lies a problem of % of Digital Illiteracy in India especially in rural areas. Many of them don't have an online payment system and they take the service of cyber cafés or agents for booking a ticket.

Why should a RAC passenger bear full charge for 50% of a side lower seat? Isn't it unfair?

Once the chart is prepared, Railways must refund 50% of the fare with interest for RAC passengers. The same source of payment can be used for the refund.

Pls implement this immediately. I see many ladies and senior citizens who travel by RAC, without sleep and they pay full charge.

If any of you reading this feel that this should be implemented immediately, comment with your thoughts and share until Railways makes it a fair deal for passengers.

This is long long overdue.
