Today, @MissAPalmer finished her 2nd placement in the Music department. As a B.Ed year 3 student, she has already shown signs that she will be the most amazing teacher. Well done on another successful placement and good luck for your 4th year @RCStweets and beyond!

"I am deeply concerned to learn that East Ayrshire Council is considering proposals to move East Ayrshire Instrumental Service from the local authorityโs Education Department to an armโs length trust.
This would effectively privatise the provision of instrumental music tuition in East Ayrshire and fundamentally undermine key Scottish Government manifesto commitments made in 2021; to raise the status of Instrumental Music Tuition as a key element of education and to remove barriers to access.
I wholeheartedly believe that music and creativity should be part of a first-class education and available to everyone, whatever their background."

A warm welcome to @MissAPalmer who has joined the Music department this week from the RCS. Miss Palmer is a 3rd year B.Ed student and will be with us for 5 weeks this term and a further 6 weeks next term. We are very excited to have her join our team!

In East Ayrshire today, Instrumental Music Teachers protested proposed changes to music provision. These changes would effectively privatise music provision in East Ayrshire, undermining Scottish Government's manifesto commitments.

The EIS has called on the Scottish Government to intervene to protect school instrumental music tuition, in light of East Ayrshire Councilโs plans to remove its Instrumental Music Service from Education and outsource it to an armโs length trust.

Hello everyone! I highly encourage you all to sign this petition. Music is so important in our community and especially for kids in school and it is at risk in East Ayrshire. This petition is to ensure music remains accessible to all! ๐ถโค๏ธ @BEdMusicRCS
