So many of my students lack confidence when it comes to exam questions. I have gone back to basics and created an - I, We, You - booklet on each type of AQA GCSE RS question. We discuss the example, write one together on the visualiser, and then students independently answer.
Some great knowledge retrieval and application examples completed throughout our Jewish Beliefs unit. Our application focus is 4-mark ‘influence’ questions.
Although it has taken forever to resource our KS4 knowledge organiser booklets, they are finally making our lives easier in terms of planning and curriculum delivery. It is great to see students empowered to take better ownership of their learning journey and develop agency.
🛐 Religious education has such an important role to play in helping young people to understand the world – but it will only fulfil its potential with clear national standards, says @knowledgerich

@RogersHistory At KS4 especially we have implemented ‘first in line’ seating plans. Those who are below target, struggling with confidence etc. are usually sat at the front. These students are then ‘first in line’ regarding my live marking, targeted questioning, support etc.
@PastMatters I was chatting to other staff in my school from different subjects who were genuinely blown away that others would take the time to organise, present and attend. They wished for something similar in their subjects. So grateful!
The biggest thank you to all of the speakers at #RECurriculumConversations this week. I have learnt so much and feel inspired by every one of your presentations - amazing!
Feeling inspired by #RECurriculumConversations this week. Can anyone share any advice on how they selected their Golden Threads / what they have chosen and why? I know they already exist throughout our curriculum - I am however struggling to narrow them down!
Starting to look at evaluation and forming strong arguments. Modelled the structure using the WAGOLL / visualiser and students had a go at forming a counter argument.
Year 11 students loved these knowledge retrieval revision sheets to prepare for their mock exam. Students had 30 minutes to answer everything they could remember, then we made corrections in purple pen. Effective way to highlight fragile knowledge and focus their revision.
