@ffcaedu The first couple Newbery book report projects have come in and I am reminded why I love taking the time to appreciate an honoured book with my students.
@ffcaedu@ffca_swe We've met and surpassed our goal to read one km worth of books this year. That is incredible, 4B! Keep on reading - let's see how far we can move our brains in great new directions and through new adventurous terrains as we complete our journey through Gr. 4!
@ffcaedu Showcasing Alberta's national parks through students' top three choices of ways to spend a day at each. Suggestions including what to order from different restaurants, top fudge and ice cream choices, choices of outdoor and indoor activities, where to stay, and more!
@ffcaedu So proud of student efforts during our bus. unit and at our Entrepreneurial Extravaganza night. Enjoyed playing arcade games & purchasing a variety of creative treasures. Gr. 4s make great business people and their enthusiasm, perseverance and work ethic is inspiring.
@ffcaedu The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in 4B. We had our second market day today and it was a great success. Students offered a selection of fruit and popcorn products, bath bombs, paper products like fortune tellers and origami, and even arcade games.
@ffcaedu 4B is getting closer and closer with each book to our goal of reading a kilometre of books this year. Less than 6000 cm to go! Never stop reading!
@ffcaedu We had our first market at school today. Two partnerships sold. Quotebook sold inspiring notebooks and flowerpots handcrafted with inspirational quotes on them. Slime and Stress Balls A.S. sold slime and stress balls. The business unit is always a favorite!
@ffcaedu After reading the books "Stolen Words" and "I Am Not A Number" in Social Studies, the students in Grade 4 have worked to recreate their own versions of the Stained Glass Window panels featured in Canada's Parliament which remind us of this time in Canada's history.
@ffcaedu Read the book Fortunately, Unfortunately, & used it to inspire us in our thinking around the myth of Daedalus and Icarus. Students came up with a list of statements (starting with either "Fortunately" or "Unfortunately") and chose a favorite for each to illustrate.
@ffcaedu We are trying to learn about as many of the advantages and disadvantages to Calgary bidding on the 2026 Winter Olympics as possible in Grade 4 Social so that we can think critically about this current event. Suggestions of where to get accurate information?
@ffcaedu Planned a healthy buddy picnic with our buddy class today. Students needed to include different healthy foods from each of Canada's Food Guide categories. November is Healthy Eating Challenge month. How can you challenge yourself to make healthy choices each day?
@ffcaedu We have been thinking "outside the box" and learning how to put our writing into a table ("inside the box") by comparing ourselves to and contrasting ourselves from some inanimate objects (possibly seasonal in nature). Such great writing!
@ffcaedu In Social Studies, the Grade 4s have been writing three truths and a lie region riddles to showcase their learning around Alberta. The "lies" are actually "truths" about a different region. Can you solve the puzzles?
