@mrsb_cs_ I teach at an 100% EAL int school. Lighten the cog load with small amounts of text, LOTS of images, using a consistent format for content - I use blank KOs with headers so they can focus on the learning. Also allow students to translate key terms & keep a glossary in books!
@CSMissThomas1@RcCuthberts I had to come back to this tweet as I adapted the human computer with my Y10s and they loved it! Thank you for a great idea.
Really miss doing displays ATM - so here is my door display! Individual “posts” are changed as we progress through topics, and each post has a prompt question!
Been an odd few days - it’s definitely something different to join a new school via Zoom! My last day of quarantine today so back to school offically tomorrow!
@missaw_cs My favourite lessons for PS is building a “burger” - every layer of the burger teaches a different tool. E.g. Shape tool for the bun. Burn tool to add grill marks to the patty. Kids love it!
Other #Computing teachers - what’s your thoughts on this article? I think a strong CT background is extremely important - With KS3 groups, I spend more time problem solving than programming. https://t.co/ky3IUsMEB8
Also - looking a (pretty) teacher planner that doesn’t have “Mon-Fri” as we teach Sunday through Thursday, but can’t seem to find one! If anyone can point me in the right direction i’d be delighted #edutwitter
Popped onto my friend Jenna (thelifeofteaching_ on Insta)’s live tonight to talk a little about doing your NQT year in Doha! Give it a watch ☺️https://t.co/459JsDH50p
My Y7 classes have been loving @idea_award for distance learning. I supplement with a weekly quiz on the badges assigned - normally @GetKahoot or @quizizz Anyone else using iDEA during this time?
