Teaching is a complex activity with lots of factors interrupting learning.
Scaffolding is a strategy that allows teachers to be responsive during lessons to support students to move towards the same end goal.
The route each students takes can look different.

You’re happily enjoying your starter when the waiter whips it away from you & plonks down your main course.
You’re a few bites in & then the same happens with your dessert, then your coffee.
Then the waiter quickly clears the table & closes up
I can't remember where I found this, but it was part of an AIC booklet & is fantastic! It has helped all my classes improve their analytical writing skills & construct interesting points - a great starting point which then allows students to continue their analysis in more depth.
No parent should ever have to endure what Ian Russell and his family have been through. They have been so incredibly brave. Online safety for our children and young people needs to be a prerequisite, not an afterthought. W
