You know that bit at the start of Harry Potter where Professor McGonagall sits, as a cat, on the road sign and watches the Dursleys all day?
There’s a cat that’s been sitting on the wall opposite us for more than 24 hours now. It’s clearly not injured. What’s it plotting…?
I’ve recently finished this by @lucyjones and I think it’s a must-read for school leaders. It includes the damning fact that 75% of children spend less time outside than prison inmates. Even in cities, it doesn’t have to be this way.
Packing a picnic for Wimbledon tomorrow, and I’ve just caught myself putting the cream in its own Tupperware “just in case.”
This is it. This is the moment. I’ve become my mother.
@heatherfox I’ve not done it myself but some colleagues did this year. I think they made a booklet. I can have a rummage in the shared area and see what I can find. Dm me your email address?
@mrs_denglish Completely agree. There is so much brilliant literature out there for KS2 and KS3 - so use it, rather than a watered down version of texts that they’re neither emotionally mature enough or academically ready for.
@AlysonBrooker Thank you. I know I’ll be alright, it’s just pushing open the door on the first day is like starting again at 0. I spent six years building up a good reputation in my last school and I feel like an idiot for just walking away from it.
Starting my new role in September suddenly seems a lot closer than it did when I accepted it.
Incredibly nervous. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do to try and alleviate this?
@lockwood_mrs_dt Independent schools - we’ve already gone for summer! I did go in a few weeks ago and had a lovely time. It’s just nerves kicking in now that I’ve broken up for summer and left a school where I knew what I was doing.
