@money2themasses Which according to most figures will not be the case for many...
"Nearly 40% of people who bought their first property with a mortgage in 2017 are likely to be paying it off after the age of 65."
I think the more recent research is worse...

London housebuilding has plummeted, in part due to lack of buyer confidence in the leasehold flat market and uncontrollable service charges, reports The Times.
The purchase of a leasehold flat is NOT a property purchase. It’s buying a right to occupy subject to fees and charges which can be unlimited and which occupiers have very little ability to challenge.

Today's Poll: Inequality. Which is more important - policies to close the gap between rich & poor or focusing just on raising the incomes of the poor.
It’s a deliberately stark choice in what is obviously a far more nuanced issue. What's CLOSER to your view?
In my 40 or so years living across the UK and multiple different boroughs of London, I had never lost water once.
In 3 years of living in SE23 I have lost it for a total of 4 weeks, spread over 5 different occasions.
Perhaps time for the government to step up?
Enough is enough @thameswater.
Residents in SE22 and SE15 have had little or no water for days and now a primary school has had to close. This is completely unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately.
Re-watched The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
It's decent.
But would have been far better if it was a film.
And would have been a far better intro for Sam as Captain America than his actual film.
This is a great list. Especially pleased to see a call to abolish the State Pension Triple Lock. Current and former Chancellors and HMT officials know it's unsustainable. We need more MPs to have the courage to speak out against it.
The Battle of Moonraker base is never the same once you learn the truth:
The dolls inside each space suit were surplus Fonzarelli action figures from Happy Days.
The staff kept triggering the sound effect the doll made which they incorporated into the scene.
So next time you see one of the astronauts hit by a laser and spinning off into space, you can now hear The Fonze giving the thumbs-up saying “Aaay!”…
