Heather Phillipson's sculpture "The End" on Trafalgar Square's fourth plinth is both enticing and disarming. It imaginatively encapsulates these uncertain times. The drone transmits from Trafalgar Square: https://t.co/QFqKC6jkp5

@dickon_edwards I have the same problem. Can only get 3 hours a week in the British library, and it's a totally different atmosphere than usual, a bit zombie apocalypse (understandably). And cafes are cold too, what with air con ramped up and doors open, so the wandering continues!
Fucking brilliant. Thank you @BernieDieter for making me laugh. I miss live cabaret and for a few short minutes you have transported me to a magical world of Spiegeltents and dingy basement bars. 💃🍻

Here it is darlings! My new single 🎶‘Weirdo in Isolation’ 🎶Play it loud, dance around your lounge rooms.
It's been a tough time for artists recently and writing this song has been a much needed distraction over the past week... https://t.co/Jd3LtrBisn

William Blake @tate - stunning, spiritual and vastly imaginative. A profoundly calming antidote to the #GE2019.
"Houses of Commons and Houses of Lords appear to me to be fools; they seem to me to be something else besides human life". #Williamblake 1810

How much were @HistoricEngland paid by the developer for 'enhanced services,' advocating redevelopment of the Whitechapel Bell Foundry into a boutique hotel? https://t.co/Tw5fKoJH9h

Hackney Wick & Fish Island is an area rich in history with some of the finest examples of Victorian factories. Please help #savelondon#savehackneywick from being sanitised, ordered, branded & therefore made bland by these land pirates. @SadiqKhan#gentrification. How dare you.
CAMPAIGN UPDATE: We've managed to secure an extension of another week (17/04) for the lease renewal payment, so please keep on sharing & getting as many eyeballs on the campaign as possible! The support so far has been incredibly heartening. ❤️ https://t.co/wEQafJJEK5
Please sign to save this wonderful building and its history! 🛎️ And hopefully, as in Oranges and Lemons, maybe the chopper will come to chop off the developers' plans! 🍊🍋
@DFletcherArtist captures a sense of time & place, evoking a whole world of stories beyond the canvas. Highly recommend a wander round the @BowArts nearby streets too... BBC News - An artist's paintings of East End London are finally gaining recognition https://t.co/etf3Aq8TJu

This is my favorite item which I found when digitising our Folded Maps collection, a map of London on a fan, with an index on the back!

Curious about the history of your house or street? Then let our map collection transport you back to a time when Tower Hamlets still consisted of actual hamlets, and find out who your landlord would have been in 1703! #ExploreYourArchive#ExploreArchives
Such an atmospheric drawing of this elegant building. Brings to mind a favourite quote from Peter Ackroyd’s Hawksmoor: “for there is no Light without Darknesse and no Substance without Shaddowe”
