@NVIDIA just pushed its specialized inference silicon into full production, aimed at making AI agents feel instantaneous in real-time use.
As agentic AI scales, the industry's shifting focus from raw training power to inference speed, this is where a lot of near-term engineering hiring is heading (inference optimization, low-latency systems).

@AMD shares are up 121% YTD and 189% over 12 months, even after a 14% pullback this past month, one of the most dramatic swings in the sector.
Volatility aside, it reflects just how much capital and hiring momentum is still flowing into AI chip competition beyond Nvidia.

@Apple is cutting 147 jobs across 3 Bay Area offices (79 Cupertino HQ, 40 + 28 Sunnyvale), effective Oct 19, 2026. Hits Vision Pro, Siri, and software teams, security, ML, UI.
Timing is notable: this lands just days before Tim Cook steps down as CEO after 11 years, with John Ternus taking over.
Even Apple, historically rare with layoffs, isn't immune to the AI-era restructuring wave.

@Google is rolling out Ask Gemini in Google Chat starting today (Aug 26, 2026), replacing the old side panel and turning Chat into a unified hub, search Workspace data, draft content, catch up on conversations, all without leaving the chat window.
Available to Business/Enterprise Workspace tiers and Google AI Pro for Education.
This is Gemini's shift from a standalone assistant to an embedded layer across workplace tools, a trend worth watching if you're building enterprise AI or workplace collaboration products.

An underrated question that separates candidates fast:
"What would you do in your first 30 days on this job?"
Weak answer: vague enthusiasm, "I'd learn the systems and get to know the team."
Strong answer: names one specific thing they'd investigate or fix first, based on what the JD actually says the team needs.
It shows you read the job description like a plan, not just a list of requirements.
A question candidates dread more than they should:
"Why should we hire you over other candidates?"
Weak answer: repeats the resume, "I have 5 years of experience and strong skills in X."
Strong answer: connects specific experience directly to a problem the team is currently facing.
We already have your resume. This question is asking you to make the connection we haven't made yet.
A question that reveals more than time-management skills:
"Tell me about a time you had too much on your plate."
Weak answer: lists everything they juggled, like it's a badge of honor.
Strong answer: explains what they dropped or delegated, and why that choice made sense.
Recruiters aren't impressed by how much you can carry. We're impressed by how well you decide what not to carry.
A behavioral question that separates prepared candidates from truly self-aware ones:
"Tell me about feedback that was hard to hear, but true."
Weak answer: describes feedback that was actually just harsh, not accurate.
Strong answer: names feedback that genuinely stung because it was right, and explains what changed after.
Recruiters aren't testing if you've faced criticism. Everyone has. We're testing whether you actually absorbed it.
The most predictable interview question is also the most revealing:
"What's your biggest weakness?"
Weak answer: a fake weakness dressed up as a strength, "I work too hard" or "I'm a perfectionist."
Strong answer: a real, specific weakness, paired with what you're actively doing about it, not just naming it and moving on.
Recruiters have heard every version of the fake answer. Honesty, with a plan attached, stands out immediately.
Something I've learned screening candidates across experience levvels:
Juniors get rejected for what they don't know yet. Seniors get rejected for assuming they don't need to prove it anymore.
No matter the level, "trust me, I've done this before" doesn't land as well as a specific example. Seniority earns you the interview, it doesn't excuse you from showing your work.
@Infineon is acquiring Bengaluru-based C2i Semiconductors, a startup building software-defined power controllers for AI data centers (Aug 24, 2026).
Infineon already employs ~2,800 people in India, this acquisition adds a new R&D center of excellence for digital power tech, closing Q3 2026.
AI infrastructure isn't just about GPUs, power delivery is becoming its own semiconductor battleground as AI chips demand faster, more precise power regulation.
Strong signal for power management, analog/mixed-signal, and semiconductor engineering hiring in India.

@c_atsika As of Aug 24, 2026: 322 layoff events this year, 205,832 workers impacted, averaging 872 job losses a day.
54% of these layoffs explicitly cite AI/automation as a driving factor, affecting 170,945 workers across 173 companies.
The largest single cut this year: Oracle, 30,000 employees.
The flip side: roles in AI safety, ML infrastructure, and applied research remain in strong demand even amid the cuts.

Software engineers, use this resume formula:
Action + What you owned + Clear result
Example:
“Rewrote payment service in Go → cut latency 48% and handled 3x traffic”
No fluff. No tech dump. Just results.
Steal it.
Semiconductor alert 🔥
Xiaomi just dropped the Xring O3 — a 3nm TSMC chip, first mobile SoC with LPDDR6 support, 24B transistors, and claimed AnTuTu over 5.2 million.
Meanwhile, Nvidia is hiking AI server prices by more than 15% (some configs ~17%) for Vera Rubin & Grace Blackwell systems shipping in 2027 — all driven by soaring HBM/memory costs.
Custom silicon race + memory crunch = the next phase of the AI hardware boom is getting expensive and competitive fast.
Who’s winning the chip war right now?
Taiwanese prosecutors indicted nine people, including employees of @nvidia and Super Micro, over an alleged scheme to illegally export advanced AI servers to China. Prosecutors say 74 of 130 B300 servers were ultimately diverted to China through intermediaries, highlighting the growing enforcement pressure around AI-chip export controls.

Something worth noticing in this stretch of layoffs:
Companies aren't just cutting from struggling divisions anymore. Meta's cuts are hitting teams right alongside record AI investment.
The message for job seekers: a company's overall health doesn't guarantee your team's safety. Watch which specific functions are getting AI-automated or deprioritized, not just the company's stock price.
@Meta layoffs are hitting New York hard, one confirmed WARN filing alone covers 417 roles, part of a broader 2026 restructuring first flagged back in May.
This comes as Meta simultaneously ramps up AI investment, a pattern we're seeing across Big Tech: cut in some areas, pour billions into AI in others.

Something I've noticed after enough final-round rejections:
The candidate who gets picked isn't always the most skilled. It's the one who made the panel feel confident handing them ambiguity.
Skills prove you can do the job. Composure under uncertainty proves you can be trusted with it.
