The best part of my week was when one of my students from two years ago chose to come visit me whenever he reaches his goal on his behavior chart. ๐ญ He told his teacher โwe got a long really wellโ โค๏ธ
Elementary students should not be taking standardized tests. Because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away the fun and excitement of learning, playing, exploring, & creating. We create test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.
The four stages of a teacher's weekend:
Friday night: "So much to do this weekend!"
Saturday morning: "I can just do it tomorrow"
Sunday morning: "I'll get started after breakfast"
Sunday night: "Uh oh..."
We are going to fight for educators and students.
That means hiring more counselors and school nurses.
That means paying educators what they're worth.
That means protecting the right to organize.
Educators: this is our moment.
Weโre going to make sure that every child, every school, and every educator has what they need to thrive regardless of where they live or where they come from.
S: I canโt wait to go home and put underwear on
Me: *looks confused* what?
S: I couldnโt find any so I wore a pull up
Me: It probably would have been more comfortable to just go without underwear, buddy.
S: Yeahhh.... because I have a rash now #firstgrade
