FREE EDITABLE RESOURCE: My Geography Survival Kit has been a labour of love. Designed to be printed for use in the classroom & as a revision resource. I've removed my school's CSs/info for teachers to insert their own. AQA spec. Hope you like it as much as I do! Link below... (1)
@MrsBuchananGeog So exciting Lara! DM me your email address and I can send over some Science of Learning summaries which will support you when lesson planning. I highly recommend following the.unteachables on insta to support behaviour management 😊
- 6.5% would never have been awarded without the 8 days of action by NEU members.
- We must go further though. 🏴 teachers deserve pay parity with 🏴
- We need pay restoration for all school staff (teachers, leaders, support staff)
- This isn't just about fairness. It is the only way to save our schools. The crisis of recruitment & retention is so severe.
- We need urgent action on workload. Education funding is too low. We should fund our schools to the OECD average of 5% of GDP.
- We have shown we can beat the government's anti-democratic strike thresholds.
- We have shown we can deliver solid and sustained strike action.
- In September serious discussions will take place about how we move the campaign for education forward.
- We will build unity and coordinate with other eduction unions as much as possible.
Geographers! 🌍 Is technology used well in your school? Our students have iPads and I’d love to increase use of them in the curriculum. Any ideas or examples you have?
‘MPs have seen a pay increase of 17.7 per cent - meanwhile, teachers have seen a real-terms pay cut of 15 per cent’ | Tes Magazine https://t.co/YhkJ1QCFdM
‘Government makes unfunded offer to English teachers, not inline with Scotland and Wales, and ignores calls for reform to ofsted and workload.’
Corrected it for you @BBCNews
Tonight is a reminder that you can switch in minutes to join the @NEUnion as your own union has not taken proactive action to address the woeful situation imposed on the teaching profession and join us in creating a bigger voice to strike. We need EVERY teacher #EnoughIsEnough
Budgets are already breaking.
Recruitment and retention is already breaking.
Educators are breaking all around us.
This is an utter- and I believe calculated- insult.
Hard to look at the ‘offer’ as anything other than a show of contempt to the profession. Looks like the lowest offer given to any of those previously on strike. Why is that? @GillianKeegan
I REJECT with every bone in my body. This offer is offensive and shows how little we are valued as teachers in England and the crippling effect this UNFUNDED increase (not inline with inflation) will have on schools.
So now we see the value of education.
£1000, before tax, and a below inflation increase for next year of 4.5%.
Not fully funded.
Less than fire service, doctors, railway workers and the offer to teachers in Wales and Scotland.
That’s how little they value education.
What an absolutely shocking offer from @educationgovuk. You are insulting us. I can’t really afford to strike, but we can’t afford to be treated like this. The offer is NOT fully funded. Did you listen at all?!
This isnt an offer from Government it is an insult.
£1000 non-consolidated.
4.5% in September
AND UNFUNDED!
I will be voting to REJECT. No more pay cuts!
A teacher in 6th year:
🏴 £48.5k (from Jan)
🏴 £44K (from Sept)
🏴 £39K
Vote no! Full funding and parity is what we need
Yesterday was our annual World Book Day 📚 Thank you to Team English for all the hard work and preparation…. And yes, Miss Godwin is a house 🏠 @WorldBookDayUK#WorldBookDay2023
